I think we try to look for positives with Oscar cause we feel bad for him. Need someone to score at least a bit. Not giving up on either of them, but this season is done. Give them some AHL time to get confidence back. It can't hurt to have a look at one of the prospects...maybe Allison
- DANCER

Neither NP or Oskar are waiver exempt anymore.

They made another trade? Thought it was just Connolly and a couple of young guys.
- Tomahawk

Same trade, Florida saved 3.5 per year over two years. My bad, not 3 vets, dropping Connolly was the big savings.

I remembered the #5 ranking...it was the guys ranked ahead of him that made me do a double take. It was what he said that just differed so much from what Hextall was saying and what I watched when I saw him play in the World JRs.
- landros 2

Yep, I had to look it up, I didn’t remember the #rank...I just remember fuming!

Obviously you haven’t been paying attention lately. While I agree to many would argue.

Great play by Haag, and demonstrate an appropriate drop to the ice.

Ivan Orr needs to sit in the press box and watch Hagg so he can learn to play defence

Matchups in hockey are so important, especially at this level. Consider how much better the Flyers play against the Islanders compared to other teams.

You can’t give up on them...but next year is big for both guys...I kind of have sympathy for the Lindblom when he talks about just not having the energy on a constant basis. Patrick had a disappointing 2nd season where by he looked disinterested in any kind of engagement ...this season just looks like more of the same for Patrick.

Where by history of success you mean a 15 game stretch at start of 19-20 season, outside which his stats are pretty identical to NP (before this season). 😉

If you're not considering his surprise cancer diagnosis, you're ignoring reality. As usual.

I was just thinking that, 2-2 in the 3rd, I don't have much confidence they will pull this one out.

Patrick May need Hart’s shrink.
Patrick obviously has the talent to be a very good NHL player but he hasn’t put it together yet.
I would argue he has had a tough start to his pro career and the best course of action is to keep working with him.
On the other hand I want to see some flashes where he has games where he really stands out.
I haven’t really seen that.
That’s why he may need help to get out of his head.
Stop thinking and rely on skills.
Trust yourself and prove you belong.

I meant pre-cancer break, Chief.

More to the point, I can understand if NP does not live up to his pre-draft billing. But right now, he doesn't look like a NHL player. I find that suspicious.

What has Patrick done in his 2+ NHL seasons that makes it obvious that he has the talent to be a very good NHL player?

I wonder though ... in the NHL I think its the players more than the coaching.

I’m much less concerned about Lindblom. He needs a full summer of training.

Patrick I’m very concerned about. Flyers have to go into next season like he’s not even part of the equation. He’s been so bad.

The kid I saw in jr welcomed contact or at least always seemed to be involved. He has ultra talent....you don’t get drafted second overall with out a serious skill set. We all hope it just clicks one day, but I must admit I’m not seeing anything that would make me think ....he’s getting close.
