Isles get Palmieri and Zajac. - Rinosaur
For a very reasonable price too considering NJ retained 50%. |

Pissing away assets for rentals and a midget seems like a bad idea. They are just gatekeepers for the elite teams. - Feds91Stammer
A 27 year old AHLer, a mediocre prospect, a late 1st in a poop draft and pick that might turn into a 3rd? I wouldn't say they pissed much away to make a serious run. |

I’m with Vic in that loading up sans lee does seem ill advised. The return for the Devils is gross. Good chance they see 0 return on this trade. |

I don’t subscribe to the idea of a weak draft especially in terms of firsts. I don’t see them as equipped to make a strong run without Lee. |

Not sure how it's a bad move for the Isles.

I think they got good value on the trade, but they aren't really a high end contender this season without Lee. Not sure the move should have been done on NJ's part. |

They didn’t really “load up” all they did was replace Lee. Zajac ain’t nothin special anymore. |

I mean it’s way better than a 1st for Laughton. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad move just not sure it’s the best asset management. |

All I’m saying is that the hit rates on late first is a coin flip. There is a decent chance they don’t get any return. There is a chance they do but having one of the biggest chips at the deadline should have at least netted them a decent prospect. |

Clearly the market is different because of the flat cap. They killed it last season on the Coleman deal. |

Can't help but think the Pens missed the boat on this one... That is a very modest price for 2/3 of a strong 3rd line.
Low price likely driven by the Lamorello connection. |

They didn't load up, but they haven't really missed a beat with Lee out, so I'd say that chemistry permitting, this definitely adds for them.

They haven’t missed a beat cause they play in a poop division. |

I recall you poopting on this years draft quite a bit this year and not thinking too much of a first rounders in 2021 in a few trade discussions.

Mainly just that I think the east is full of pretenders and no elite teams. Obviously each division has a truly poop team or two. |

Nah I’d just prefer more chances at the “generational” guys the next year if possible. So if a team is playoff bound this year but possibly a lotto team next year I would want the 2022 pick. |
