Keefe's comment was hard to read... I don't know what to make of it?
Like, no concern, he'll be back really soon or no concern, if he's out for the year, Campbell has been excellent? - PatC80
same here..no idea what he actually means
but like I said, maybe he is staring at a pool of pirhanas and doesnt want to toss some some blood in the water

Other than Keefe saying "no concern" is there any update on Freddy Andersen? - PatC80
And is anyone suspicious we haven’t heard from Max this whole time? |

I just don’t think he warrants it based on that number of games. Grubaur with over 30 games has really good numbers - Canada Cup
I"m not saying win the damn thing.
I'm just saying that if I'm sitting around in a bar with 6 guys who are fans of other teams, the pitchers are draining, and I suggest that Campbell should be considered.
Do I get laughed away from the table?

something feels off to me.
but I feel its cap related..his injury is a bit of a mystery.
but i would say the same thing if I was him even if freddy had 2 broken legs...you know...to not stirr up a sht storm - senstroll
exactly, it just seems off...
If it's a mental thing, then maybe that's why they are being really secretive about it.
There's no mention of Andersen practicing or even skating? It's hard to get a read on.. It doesn't help that Chris Johnston saying that some Leafs players would be upset if Andersen was traded at the deadline. Don't even know if he'll be back by then |

I could see that if it was a mental health/well being issue.. If it's a groin, or leg injury why not just say it? There's not mention about him even skating.. |

You'll find him under Joseph Woll's bed whispering, "You ARE an NHL goalie!" over and over again. |

I am not positive, but I think Vezina has only 3 votes cast. So you can cast whomever you like, but there are spots 1, 2 and 3 only.
I love what Campbell is doing here, but I can think of probably 10 guys who'd get votes before Campbell should based on sample size. - Monkeypunk
Damn, looks like you are right.
And it's NHL GMs who vote.
This is not going to happen. |

Dubas from today’s Athletic “we don’t expect that it is anything that is going to be long term, and use all the time we have until the deadline to continue to evaluate that. And then roll from there. It’s my expectation that in the coming weeks here that the three goalies between the roster and the taxi squad will be FA, JC and MH.”

Yeah, you're right. He's on the Marlies sporting an .881 save percentage, which is a big improvement over the .880 he posted last year.
To be fair our other goalie has an .890 - and Woll has the team's only shutout in the 7 games he's played |

I doubt it's a lie or even misdirection. They have a 99.98% chance of making the playoffs. Giving Freddy time to heal up and rolling with Hutch & Campbell as they need to should still be good.
They may have kicked tires and found that the price for any type of improvement isn't where they need it - especially when they consider that those assets and resources are better directed towards improvements in the D or up front.

The Leafs have four games left against Winnipeg.
We obviously can win all of them, easily.
But I'm wondering if we throw a couple of them, just so we don't push the Jets below the Habs in the standings.
I just think that when we all hold hands together and sing "Free to Be" at the Stanley Cup parade, it would be nice to talk about beating the Habs in the first round.
Ima hang up and listen. |

Unless Freddie is out for the season, bringing in another goalie is a waste of assets.
The guy you trade for won't be as good as a healthy Freddie.
He won't be as good as Campbell is currently playing.
So are you really spending assets to bring in a #3?
Isn't Hutchinson pretty much a "top-line #3?" |

You could be right, but why add in the "we have till the deadline" wrinkle?
If it's not something that will keep him out long term, then they should have an idea of how long he's out for and gear up for the playoffs with what they have in goal... I'm starting to think it's not a physical injury with Freddy...
Maybe it's a mental health issue.. |
