My gf was (frank)ed up most of year after recovering from Covid. The lingering symptoms are no joke.

StL is cooked..they suck, and Schwartz is a UFA..if they were smart they move him.

i guess they could sign him..but why at this point

- senstroll

I think STL can still make the PO’s? Only chasing Arizona, Taerasenko finally back and healthy. I’d guess the next couple/few games should tell the story for them.

Schwartz was out and hasn’t done anything the last 5, any idea what was wrong with him?

I'd like a rental + Kempe.

Easy contract to fit next year.

Hall, Foligno, Palmeri, Schwartz, Laughton

Hyman-AM-Marner
Galchenyuk-JT-Nylander
Kempe-Engvall-Palmeri
Mikheyev-Spezza-Thornton
Simmonds

Yes Kerfoot is given the boot. Kempe at 2M instead of Kerfoot at 3.5M helps us out next offseason.

Mikheyev can transport the puck for the old guys. Gally and the rental can switch.

I don't see LA giving up a cost & term controlled player who is 24. Looks more like a team that's retooling than a team that's rebuilding, which means assets like Kempe are seen as a part of their solution.

Iafallo is a UFA, so they'll move him. There would be no takers, but I'm sure that Brown or Carter would be moved if they could. Certainly they'd probably like to move away from the underperforming Quick, but I don't think they'd want to move their younger assets who are contributing effectively.

Kempe is only cost controlled for next year.

They aren’t winning anything next year and after that they will have to pay Kempe for what he is worth.

Sounds like they like both Iafallo and Kempe...signing Iafallo and trading the higher valued player that gives them relative production would be smart.

Kempe at 2 M doesn’t do much for them..cap space is a non issue next year for them. But this is an opportunity where they can get good value for him.

Man looking at Anaheim...they're (frank)ing boned outside of Manson. Nothing to sell unless Rackell gets healthy. Long contracts. Getzlaf looks done + NMC.

I said it a while ago...Murray is the worst GM in the past 5 years.

He has stubbornly overvalued his players and instead of trading them for youth he has signed them to long term valueless deals.

Now they have two elite prospects and they will watch them be wasted the next 5-10 years unless they start salvaging what they have left of trade value in Rakell and Manson.

They're in a rough spot. They're 5pts back of Arizona but do have a game in hand. Hockey-Reference gives them a 14% chance of making the playoffs, Moneypuck gives them 8.8% and the Athletic gives them 16%.

Let's say Arizona goes 8-9 in their final 17 for a 59pt finish. To pass them, St. Louis has to go 11-7 - which isn't unimaginable, but 14 of those 18 games are against teams in places 1-3 in their division. Of Arizona's final 17, 9 are against teams below them in the standings (1 is St. Louis).

If St. Louis is going to make it, they're going to have pull off a 2019ish finish to the season . . . without Pietrangelo, with an injured Parayko and no backup goalie.

Sometimes it's more important to have a guy retire in one jersey for a young franchise.

Parayko’s hurt too? Damn they’ve had some hard injuries since winning the cup.

They’re done, Sensy’s right again.

Its crazy if that team were the Leafs they would of been blown up years ago...Leaf fans suck sometimes but at least we aren't satisfied with scraping by being a 20th place team every year.

Had to pick up something at Rona.

Ran out - no lineup.

I suggest that if you need anything at a store, you should go today at lunch, because after Premier Ford announces the lockdown, people are going to make a mad rush to pull crap off of shelves.

It makes no sense, but the lineups will be crazy.

Maybe. I guess it depends on where they see him. LA has, arguably, the best young stable of prospects in the league. I don't know how many of them are ready, and if they see someone like Kempe as a part of that group, or as an outsider to that group. I'm not arguing that he has some value - I just don't know where LA sees him. He's only 24.

We have a pickup scheduled for tonight at 6:30 (it's Lowe's, but it's basically Rona), which was our earliest spot available -- and we scheduled that on Monday.

ok, then you’re justified to have exceedingly high expectations for this years version of the leafs. Cup or bust it is.

I’ll be sure to check in after the parade to receive my public flogging.

Great but tempered expecations here, no one has ever mistaken me for Tanner or Roeper. At the same time it would be fun just to listen to CanuckDon's head explode from that giant aneurysm he would surely get.

Oleksiak and Bogosian would be an interesting 3rd pairing.
- dmnted

Frankly, Oleksiak is exactly what this team needs. Big, skates well, and is tough to play against.

Would love Taylor Hall in the top 6, but in terms of impact I think Oleksiak might be the best fit for this squad.
