I was wondering the same about Taylor Hall tbh Wedgie.
I seriously wonder if that guy is a problem. Look at Kapanen last season. A lot came out after the season that he may have been causing problems in the room.
Sometimes I find intangibles a little far-fetched. For example, I seriously don't think Joe Thornton is teaching anything to our young guys. In some cases, I do think it matters. The perfect example would be Montreal in the Subban/Paccioretty years. - Aetherial
I don't think Thornton is teaching them much. I think his storied hall of fame career sets an example. Adam has made the point that he serves as an example that you can spend your entire career and win nothing - which is probably a dark truth.
Honestly, more than anything, they seem to look up to him, and between him and Spezza, there's a lot of respect given. I remember reading an article last year (and personally agreeing) that when Babcock sat Spezza in game one against Ottawa, it was the beginning of the end in terms of what respect he had from his players.

If the playoffs started right now, I would bet a hundred bucks they would make the third round. They are going to be the favourite in their division for a change unlike against Boston and Washington. If they don't go for it now, there's no point in ever going for it. They can beat any team in a 7 game series now. - Zezel
Any team in the north division sure.
Unfortunately, we wont know how they stack up against the rest of the league and other top 10 teams this year....unless they make the 3rd round.
It would have been good to see the leafs play against the panthers, canes, lightning, capitals, Islanders (still rocking), avalanche, golden knights, or even the pens.
The only top team we get to play are the jets

I am getting together with 6 people around a couple bonfires in an open barn on Saturday. - Aetherial
All of my winter clothing smells like smoke.
A friend has a group of buddies who regularly toured each others' backyards all winter.
One of the wives took the photos of them huddling around fires drinking beer, and set it to the audio of the ASPCA commercial with Sarah McLachlan about dogs without homes suffering in the cold.
It's the funniest thing I've seen about the entire COVID epidemic.
I'll call bullsh!t on this and back it up with facts not opinions. Playoff success open to interpretation but let us say winning 2 rounds minimum. By this standard those consitently good previous playoffs were 30%.
Seasons leading up to cup wins.
1) Tampa - lost 4 straight in the first round
2) St Louis - did not qualify for playoffs
3) Washington - won one round
4) Pittsburgh - won cup
5) Pittsburgh - lost first round only won one game
6) Chicago - won two rounds
7) LA - won two rounds
8) Chicago - lost in first round
9) LA - lost in first round
10) Boston - won one round.
So nice troll attempt but BS - winsix
It's so funny when people drop nonsensical posts and have literally zero factual evidence to back up their claim of absolution. Great resourceful response here pal.

I think having Joe Thornton on the team goes far beyond our knowledge.
Being an NHL player is mostly dealing with bull poop and trying to keep your head in reality. Based off from interviews I’ve heard from non mainstream media.

ok, then you’re justified to have exceedingly high expectations for this years version of the leafs. Cup or bust it is.
I’ll be sure to check in after the parade to receive my public flogging.

The three of us outside in the barn watching the superbowl this year was comical. My beer froze!

I would suggest not having the "couple bonfires" in an open barn.
- Fakepartofme
Very big barn, concrete floor and metal roof. He has electricity there, a microwave, a fridge, and a barbecue. The two fire things are 4" diameter. We get some big fires, but nowhere near the joists.
he made a 100" screen out of framed drywall. so he can broadcast streams and such. It makes for a great place to have a get together, Eventually the fire heats up the concrete and you get pretty cozy even when the wind is blowing.
