Something like that....but to be far to him, I thought I take a shot at a real question and see how he responded. I felt like he'd give me a real answer and genuinely was curious.
Now we can both go back to our territorial hatred.
I like "plan the riot".

Hey Aeth, from the last board....
Domi is $1.25 remaining, same with Kuemper....so $2.5M added.
That's covered by moving Kerfoot....but also there could be other moves this year so it could work Cap wise...Andersen could be held out for a trade???
And, we have more than enough with just the Cap savings we accumulated throughout the year....I've read up to $4.2 but it's at least $2.5 now.
Summer time could figure out the next season Cap issues....Andersen walks if a trade hasn't happened, Engvall-whomever, all the scraps. Keep Spezza and Simmonds, give Hyman a raise, etc...
Rielly isn't an issue until next, next season. So it could work and I'm not even Prindham - Barb34
Next year is the isssue with Domi's salary.
They need to re-sign Hyman to an increase and sign a goalie.

Personally, I think it’s very difficult to assess a team’s true character when they are only playing six teams out of thirty. The six teams they do play are not that great. Most are down right poop, like my Canucks.
Its all about goaltending in the playoffs so regular season stats don’t mean poop. What would it take for me to consider the leafs a true contender? Consistent playoff success. Over the last 10 years the Cup winners were consistently good in previous playoffs leading up to their Cup win. Very few teams go from first round fodder to Cup champs.
Most everyone predicted the leafs to cake walk to the final four this season. After that all bets are off. - bloatedmosquito
I'll call bullsh!t on this and back it up with facts not opinions. Playoff success open to interpretation but let us say winning 2 rounds minimum. By this standard those consitently good previous playoffs were 30%.
Seasons leading up to cup wins.
1) Tampa - lost 4 straight in the first round
2) St Louis - did not qualify for playoffs
3) Washington - won one round
4) Pittsburgh - won cup
5) Pittsburgh - lost first round only won one game
6) Chicago - won two rounds
7) LA - won two rounds
8) Chicago - lost in first round
9) LA - lost in first round
10) Boston - won one round.

I normally get pissy about bullpoop lazy sportswriter narratives, but I think there is something to be said about not messing with chemistry.
The Leafs are rolling on all cylinders right now.
If you are going to bring in a guy who is going to take a spot away from a regular, the new guy had better be clearly better.
Domi would be a media circus. I'm just not so sure that's the smart move here. - Atomic Wedgie
I was wondering the same about Taylor Hall tbh Wedgie.
I seriously wonder if that guy is a problem. Look at Kapanen last season. A lot came out after the season that he may have been causing problems in the room.
Sometimes I find intangibles a little far-fetched. For example, I seriously don't think Joe Thornton is teaching anything to our young guys. In some cases, I do think it matters. The perfect example would be Montreal in the Subban/Paccioretty years.

Matthews and Marner seem to need father figures around...it makes them feel warm and fuzzy, like Joes beard. No teaching...more about Joe’s massive wingspan to hold his little birdie’s close.

Hmmm, I am not sure that is true.
I would say that was the consensus overall, but a lot of people were all over the place with EDM/VAN/MTL/CGY/WPG a lot of people had one or more than one finishing ahead of the Leafs.
The North suddenly became poopty when Toronto was dominating. I am not going to say it is the strongest division. It may even be the weakest, but I doubt there is all that much to pick and choose.
