Depends on where the pick is. I don't think they'd get a first for Laughton.
- MJL

I'd hold out for a top-60 pick. Barring that, keep him.

I definitely would not trade him for a pick outside of the first round.

Then basically you're keeping him.

I'm thinking guys of the Taylor Hall variety will get looked at for scoring. Even Palmeri before Laughton.

Odds are very slim but if Laughton were to get dealt I don't think it's a one for one deal. I feel he's a piece to something.

Two-way competitive 3Cs are pretty necessary come PO time tho.

Hall and Palmieri are a completely different market.

I’d move Laughton for picks and then try to negotiate with him in the summer. If he moves on so be it. Idk if you’ll get a 1st, but a 2nd and 3rd or 4th would be doable for me. Chuck needs to make some tough moves this summer and having extra picks always helps.

That’s me tho. I have a feeling this front office is still under the delusion they should be buyers this deadline.

I hope so. I'm assuming they've had cordial talks.

Do you think a team like Toronto would look at Laughton for that spot?

Unfortunately if they are within striking distance of that 4th spot after Saturday, they probably will.

I agree with you they shouldn't. Have to see how this week pans out.

I wouldn't trade Laughton.
- MJL

I think he’d be tops on the list for many playoff teams and the bids would get to a 1st rounder

But what are the Flyers able to offer?
Realistically they need 2 D-Man + they are just wasting their time with Play Off this year.
What are the chances for Raffl/Laughton being traded as Combo ?

- goenzoy

Flyers have a ton to offer. Question is are they willing to go there. We can send multiple picks, solid prospects and a young promising d man in either myers or sanheim back to them. My assumption is they'd want a young nhl defenseman, a young nhl center or top center prospect and 2 firsts. That could mean something like Sanheim, Frost and 2 first rounders. Leverage could change if Jones out right requests a trade but for a true top pairing RHD in his prime id be hard to see a deal far off that value. Or you could hope Dougie Hamilton isn't tied to the Canes and over pay the crap out of him to a tune of 7 x 9.5 to come here.

I don't think there is dysfunction in the locker room. I think there is dysfunction on the ice.
- MJL

Yes, but if players are not following Giroux's lead in how to prepare for a game and how to compete in a game, then that leads to dysfunction on the ice. I think it starts with individual player preparations, and I believe AV is taking a shot at some of his players not being prepared to play.

I agree, I like Laughton but honestly I won't cry if he decides to move on. If the Flyers look like they will not make the playoffs, I would trade him for at least a 2nd round pick in 2022 and then try to resign him in the offseason.

i don't see that being the case, them taking the flyers for granted i mean. they look at the standings and know the flyers are right behind them, and that these games are important.

i do agree they should come out fiery though.

- Ftown19125

Good point, good point (no pun intended). I was basing that more on how Flyers were playing heading into the game.

While Giroux has certainly had plenty of games where he has shown leadership. He has also had plenty of games where he has not. Where he hasn't done anything to lift the team by example. Where he failed on the backcheck and didn't work hard. Where he didn't play well.

Hopefully it’s a reverse jinx. We deserve some luck. I’m telling ya, if they win tonight in regulation and do well the next two, we might be right into the conversation

Depends on what he’s looking for...we are talking about a bottom six forward that is going to make ...3.5 to 4? ...flat cap...can’t keep everyone. I really like the player. He’s not one of the guys that has mailed in some efforts. But is it a smart signing?

Harnell was a way better offensive player
