The good news is the defense scored four goals. The bad news is two were for the Rangers.

We're 5-2 (with 2 OT/SO Wins) against the Rangers, a split is all we need. Playing .500 on the road is acceptable.

Win or lose Thursday, we do need a better effort.

Nothing to do with this game but I'd love to get a guy like Jeffery Viel for the 4th line?

Don't get me wrong, he's not going to bring much offence but I love the way he is going out there for the Sharks, playing physical and scrapping about every night. The Pens need at least one guy like that, at least for entertainment sake when games go sideways like this one.

I can't see them rolling over and not coming back with a chip on their shoulders on Thursday. We can't allow all those shots from the slot again or things could go very differently.
I was nervous about last night's game as you guys have seemed to be a consistent, difficult opponent. I guess Geno missing is still a really tough hole to fill in the line up, eh?

Missing Geno, Kapanen, Blueger and Tanev. That’s huge. Not to take away from you guys, but I think we saw it start to happen last game against Boston, what the Pens were doing just wasn’t sustainable with these injuries and is finally catching up.
