What are you using for a provider? You can trick out Expressvu and Shaw Direct with a postal code jimmy. There's one that gives you Leafs, Habs and Sens on a regional basis. - PrinceLH
I have been pleasantly surprised by how well Galchenyuk has played. He has some fire to his game, and he's not a floater like I was led to believe. He may not be the best defensively, but he's not an utter liability. He's decent with the puck, and has a nice shot and good one-timer. All that said, they could certainly upgrade on him and reap some serious benefits from it. - Monkeypunk
He’s a little nasty too, but he’s gotta be careful not to take any retaliation penalties. Noticed a couple last night that I thought he may get called for.

So do I. I was more trying to say that Andersen's ego should have to be checked at the door. If Holtby could do it with better credentials, so can he.
The initial point was that Andersen had already conceded to a reduced workload. Now having to play his way back in to beat out the guy who's winning all the games shouldn't come as a surprise. - Monkeypunk
1. I don’t think Andersen’s ego has anything to do with anything - he’ll start when Keefe tells him to start. And there’s been nothing to indicate that he will be a problem
2. I want to cut Freddie some slack. It appears he was playing hurt until Campbell healed. That’s pretty selfless in a contract year.
I guess what I am trying to say is let’s all say incredibly nice things about Freddie, while under our breath praying Campbell gets the chance to prove he can be the starter.

Freddy sucked last year too. Who knows how injured he actually is...the whole situation is murky and it’s something I try not to look into. At the end of the day Freddy has been a fraction of himself the past few years. And has always failed us when it counts.
Good riddance and I wish him luck on his next team.

If the Leafs knowingly played Freddie while he was dealing with injuries that is incredibly (frank)ed. Goalies aren't like position players -- you don't ask or expect them to play through nagging issues.

That’s the problem about looking into murky things; there’s too much murkiness. Freddie was hurt. Campbell was hurt. Hutch was poop and Freddie came back before he was completely ready. Medical staff will ask how you’re feeling when you’re close and they have to rely on what you tell them. This time they will be extra cautious. Their hope is some combo of Freddie and Campbell.

He finishes a lot of checks... much more physical than I remember. Not a bruiser by any means, but he does make contact... which is rare among this lot of forwards.

I really doubt they knew - Canada Cup
Kinda what Wedgie is hinting to, I think. Freddy would be that guy to sacrifice himself through that stretch because there weren’t many options. I think a healthy Freddy and Jack would be a significant tandem. I also think Jack relieves a healthy Freddy of a lot of pressure, knowing it doesn’t all rest on his shoulders. Faith in their team mates is important.

I would think the Leafs would look for a proven NHL goalie rather than try experimenting a month before the playoffs. Lots of backups and expiring deals available in goal.
Honest question. Is it wrong that I enjoyed (in fact I poured myself an extra glass of wine) when Holl crushed Tkachuk into the door to the Leaf's bench and saw him hobble around in pain for a few seconds? - winsix
Absolutely not. That was just a minute or two after Tkadiyck charge Rielly coming around the Leafs net...

Trading for a goalie is the worse possible outcome. It means Andy is out longer term, Campbell cannot be trusted to play healthy long term and the leafs will have to give up assets that could have otherwise been used on a forward.
Lets hope freddy will be healthy so no assets have to be wasted on another goalie. - Fakepartofme
Agreed. If Andersen is expected to he healthy for the playoffs that is the best case.
