I really don't know how I feel about the 100 new uniforms a year.

I guess if fans want to buy them, why wouldn't leagues keep offering them new crap?

And how many fans want to wear yellow jerseys?

Leafs: I bet we can create the worst new jerseys in sports:

Red Sox: hold my Sam Adams lager.

always in

it's always a treat when a team named the "Red Sox" goes with a yellow and blue jersey.

She had breast cancer. Please note the past tense!!!

She takes drugs which are considered "targeted therapy" - one of the exceptions that get you on the list sooner.

- Atomic Wedgie

I know you had mentioned that she was a breast cancer survivor. I was not sure if that alone was a risk or if there were drugs that put her at high risk.

Yeah they tell you not to... but this is a little suspicious.

The thing is, IF I trusted their systems, I would wait. I have no reason to trust the systems though. The whole thing is still a massive unorganized clusster(frank).

I dunno, the uniforms look yellow and green to me

Oh poop upon closer inspection it is blue. I guess they want to become sisters with the denver nuggets and tre kronor?

It's pretty ugly, but when I was looking at it, I noticed this one for the Bulls:

. . .and I have to say that I absolutely love that. I think if you can find the right fit, the right historical reference, the right look . . .it's cool. Like the Colorado Nordiques jersey from this year, or even the Minnesota Wild Stars jersey (not that I'd wear it - it's an eye sore). But some of the alternate jerseys, if they do justice to the franchise, are pretty cool.

It's the unofficial colours of the Boston Marathon.

So they will wear these on the weekend when the marathon is traditionally held, but - and this is important - not on the actual day that the Boston Marathon is normally run (Patriots' Day - the third Monday in April).

On that date, they will wear the white B Strong jerseys.

Oh, and the Boston Marathon is probably in October this year.

Got it?

I find when people get all grumpy about special or alternate jerseys, they seem to think of it as an "all the time" thing. It's rarely worn. It has a special use, and isn't changing the team's overall colour scheme.

There is nothing wrong with something like that as an alternate jersey.

Like the black jerseys the Flames wore yesterday.

Now the Leafs have the awful alternate jersey (St. Pats) and the awful Reverse Retro Jersey (CAN YOU SEE THE LOGO FROM SPACE?!), so we're not exactly doing it right . . .but . . .look, I had a point somewhere in all of that, and the point could be as simple as I don't even like Baseketball, so I don't care - but instead I'll just say that I'm okay with alternate jerseys when they look good and are well thought out.

OK, FYI I'm not angry - I just think it's lazy for Chicago to introduce a 'new concept / 3rd jersey / cash grab jersey' or whatever you want to call it that is so similar to the black and gold 3rd jersey the Raptors introduced but I could care less really.

And yes the St. Pats jerseys are nowhere near as nice as the green St.Pats jerseys they used to wear and the retro reverse Leaf jersey looks like a cheap knock off jersey to me.

We stopped in at the Sunshine Donut Company on Saturday. Passing time as the girls picked up garbage for their volunteer work.
Long line up. One dozen donuts = $53.00. Came in 2 big boxes, 6 per.
I ate one and immediately thought, WTF did we just do? I needed a shower after I was done. Some crazy chocolate cheesecake filled, soft, luscious, cloud that weighed half a pound. You think as you wait in line... may as well make this worthwhile.

I guess to each their own.

When I see that Chicago jersey, it smacks of Art Deco, the roaring 20s, and makes me think of history of Chicago. I've never been, so my entire notion of what Chicago is exists as presented in media. I think it captures that essence very well.

At the end of the day, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

With my first pay cheque from my first career-track job, I went down to MLG and bought a Dougie jersey (with an A - he wasn't captain yet).

I've received a few more Leafs jerseys over the years, but I've never paid a dime for another one. My Dougie will always be special, and I like wearing it to games, because it proves I'm a long-suffering Leafs fan.

I won't buy another jersey, but if you want to get the latest, go for it.

And before you think I'm some sort of Leafs crap snob, I swear to goodness, these arrived in the mail for me today:

I paid waaaaaaay to franking much for them, but considering I haven't given MLSEL a dime for tickets, beer or popcorn in over a calendar year, let's just say I still have a lot of money on the table.

Joe > Wayne Train

As we come into focus I think they're both toping out as 4th line specialty guys. Spezza is better than both and he was on waivers earlier this year.

I'm assuming some new addition bumps Simmonds down to the 4th line meaning you've got Kerfoot playing with 2 of ..Thornton, Spezza and Simmonds.
