We should have signed Markstrom, or traded for Murray or or or...

Pretty sure goalie stats are dependant on way too many things to make much meaning of...but that’s just me.

Campbell > Vasilevsky

Just give us the cup already 🥰

- annoyed

"Beat him until he is dead" Red Head Fred has a GSAA of -4.02

Markstrom has a -3.5 GSAA

Muray has a lovely -14.02 GSAA - 2nd worst in the league only to......

One of the other guys the Leafs 'should have traded for' Carter Hart at -19.73

John Gibson is a -2.71

Oh and "Korpi" is a -2.15

Ullmark is a +8.37 in 16 starts
vs
Campbell with a +10.44 in 9 starts with (arguably?) a better D core in front of him.

So to me if you can get Ullmark you get him, regardless of if Fred is projected to come back or not.

That way if Campbell or Fred (if back) get hurt you have a solid option waiting in the wings and you have a plan B if Fred doesn't come back. Hutch back to the Marlies if Fred comes back, Taxi Squad if not.

I can’t see going into a season with a goalie pair with less than 200 games between them. I’m leaning towards moving Kerfoot and Rielly in the off-season
- Canada Cup

Why not? Braden Holtby was unceremoniously dumped by the Caps in favour of two guys with a combined 26 games under their belts. And one of those guys played all 26 of those games (Samsonov).

And no, Craig Anderson was never a realistic option for the Caps -- he was signed for league minimum and as a depth goalie option.

I agree with the insurance idea. I don't think you can trust Andersen or Campbell will be healthy. You don't want to be forced to play Hutchinson or a rookie.

Good Lord, that sounds ridiculous.

I am mystified why people who registered after me actually got a response and I have not. They are the same age group, no underlying conditions. I got 3 confirmation from the 3 pharmacies so I know I was properly waitlisted.

What a mess.

I hear the vaccinations sites are getting better though.

- Aetherial

Honest to goodness, it was even worse than that.

I initially registered my parents. Entered all their information.

I get an email saying they are registered, they will contact me when we can actually book an appointment. OK, great. They even got "a unique identification number."

Two days later, I get an email - congrats, you can book an appointment!

Great.

No way to use the unique identifier. I have to enter all their personal info again.

I do my mom's appointment first. No problems. I get a big green checkmark that everything has gone through OK.

Then I do my dad. Big green checkmark. Two minutes later, a confirmation email, complete with instructions and a .pdf waiver form.

But no email for my mom.

I try calling them. Ha ha ha ha ha! I end up driving up to Sunnybrook, and asking a woman wearing scrubs and maintaining the line. She says don't worry, bring my mom in.

I go back and look at the .pdfs. I can't type in the info. I can't use the unique identifier to populate the fields. I have to print it out, and fill it out by hand - and I have the handwriting of a six-year-old with a broken crayon.

I fill it out.

Get to the hospital. As I said, they checked on the computer - yep, my parents are both in the system for 9:40 am.

We then walk 10 yards to another desk, where we hand the waiver forms, and they franking start entering in the info again - by hand.

And then here's the best part - we finally get to the actual booth where they are administering the needle, and the person who's job it is to inject the vaccine has to go through all of the contact info again, because of course there are errors. I asked him if errors were a regular occurrence, and he rolled his eyes and said, "every one."

We are wasting the extraordinarily valuable time of the needle jabbers because they have to check the personal info of patients - personal info that I gave them twice electronically, and is literally sitting on a computer 30 yards away.

Can you tell I'm still angry about this?

Where did you get these stats from? They are different than the ones I found here:

Maybe the ones I had were outdated?

Trading for a back up isn’t going to move the needle. It may end up being a complete necessity, but I sure hope with all hopes, that Freddy and Jack are the guys come playoffs, and the Leafs have done something other than goalie things.

Ya a lot of stats for goals that are usually from screens/tips - not sure there is a real answer. Even Vasi at 9.5m would let down some of us.

Whether you get him now or not, you still have to decide whether to sign him in the summer. I don’t see how you can afford three. My assumption is that Fred is gone but I worry that Ulmark/Campbell combo is too inexperienced

Andersen's timeline has not been established by Leafs mgmt conspicuously I think. He went from day-to-day to 7-10 days to (implicitly) week-to-week.

Dubas doesn't want to tip his cap completely but I would be shocked as hell if the Leafs don't acquire a goalie that is a better option than Hutch.

Yeah, I heard someone yesterday say that the two experiences they have had were night and day. I don't blame the province for the rollout confusion. It is pretty (frank)ing tough to build a solid machine when you are being fed a trickle and then told to drink out of the firehouse.

I do blame the province for the way too little, way too late closure decisions. For them to say they are considering pubic health first and foremost is simply lying.

Best to just stay away from his Facebook postings right now.

Too inexperienced to run with next year (summer signing) I'd agree but I think they need a better insurance policy than Hutch right now even if Fred comes back because both he and Campbell seem carry a high risk of re aggravating an injury come playoffs with less rest days, more intense games etc.

I signed up to the Halton update system which told me I could register online on Friday. The site told me that this hospital was quicker. The online registry was easy, I just needed my health card number. It took about 10 minutes. I did it at minute on Friday and got the first booking time.

The only hiccup was they gave the wrong hospital entrance so we sat and waited right till appointment time since it was empty then saw it was wrong and saw lineup.

Still, 5 minutes to get in. They had our information in the system already. Our follow appointment date was already set. They confirmed our information with health card, went over health information and boom.

Also, you don’t even feel the needle. All those big ass needles that look like they go through your arm. I said go ahead and she said I’m done.

They give you a sticky with a time 15 minutes after shot. You sure and wait. They print a confirmation, email another. It was really well done.

Cap issues likely mean we can't carry 3 'tenders once Freddy is back in the picture. I think they need another #3 but he'll have to pass through waivers to make it to the taxi squad. Might be stuck with Hutch and VV unless Freddy can go on LTIR.

That assumes they plan on adding a fwd or another piece as well.

They'll have some Cap wrinkles adding a fwd too. In Pridham we trust.

That is an insane amount of stupidity and incompetence.

My entire family in Canada and the US will be vaccinated by Thursday, except me. (first dose only on the Canadian side)

... up to 6 people I know who have an appointment or have been vaccinated. I have heard nothing.

Also, no lollipop. I told the nurse that the esteemed Dr Max said they don’t work without a lollipop.

I had all these dumb CC jokes lined up for when I got into the chair. Instead, I just told the nurse she had a beautiful name and that I had been waiting a long time to see her.

I'm oddly OK with handing the net to Campbell next year.

Reading the Athletic article on him, he was drafted 11th overall. He hit some turbulence along the way, but hey, here's here and he looks like he can be an NHL starter.

We need to save money somewhere. We are going to have to take a leap of faith or two.

Your wife has an underlying medical condition, no?

My wife is a teacher, so I am hoping this month. Some teachers at her school have got it already. Some have not. One teacher inquired and was told she was not on the list.

There are calculated risks you can take. Sign a qualified 1B partner for around $2.5m in case he falters.

Guys who I think might come in there or even cheaper with their current age:

Dubnyk (35)
Reimer (33)
Bernier (33)
Halak (36)
Nilsson (31) * Pending recovery
Broissoit (28)

Hutton and Rittich probably fit in that price range as well, but I wouldn't really want them.

Other guys on the market, who I think we couldn't afford (or who want to stay where they are):

Rask
Rinne
Grubauer
Mrazek
Raanta
Ullmark

. . .and guys like Smith, McElhinney and Miller are just too risky at their ages.
