He will get 4 to 5 mill for sure. - bixll
I agree, but I doubt that the resulting cap casualty will be Rielly. Kerfoot and Goalie more likely. Freddy to LTR and use the cap space to pick up what Leafs need at the TDL. Freddy "you are the weakest link - Goodbye".

the only situation I see Freddy staying is if the Leafs have a deep playoff run, other than that, I think he could be a cap casualty.
I just hope he doesn't sign in Arizona.. Don't want Matthews to join him in a few years. |

Oh so the 65" was still in the box?
That makes more sense.

i would probably go the same
sign hyman to say 5x5 (gross)
trade Rielly this summer for a decent return (picks/propects)
then maybe sign a decent steady replacement (Brodie like) for 3-4 mil
and you have Sandin who should be pushing for a spot - senstroll
My thoughts ..
IF Hyman is above 5.5 I tell him and Poulin to (frank) off.
IF he's 5 - 5.5 I think about it long and hard and see what other options I have.
IF he's 5 or less I get it done asap.
Freddy is gonzo unless he's solid the rest of the way and takes a major discount (ain't happening).
My math says the Leafs will have about 6.5-7 million left to sign a goalie and a middle six forward (re-sign Gally?). So no financial need to move Rielly and they're in go-for-it mode so I think they'd walk him into UFA unless there's a great deal that makes sense.
Rielly is good but I don't love his game. I feel like under Keefe a more complete guy would fit better. He's an ancillary piece on the PP, he's not a good PK'er and he's pretty mediocre 5v5. His skating and passing is elite but that 20 goal year looks more and more like a mirage. |

I'm a little jealous.
I've been wanting a bigger TV with 4K for a while now.
But I can't get myself to just "throw away" my old 42 inch tv that still works like a charm.... So I'm waiting for it to break.
I've even started playing ball with my son in the basement....

So the HB Pool had Edmonton playing 3 games this week and 1 or 2 of them against Van.
After the week starts and my opponent took Drais they all of a sudden play 4 games and Ottawa twice, WTF?? |

If/when Andersen gets back, he may need to play 2nd fiddle to Campbell... There is no need to give Andersen the net back upon his return, I think Campbell has earned it. I still don't trust Hutch enough to give him the added responsibility of being the back up goalie.. Hutch as the 3rd goalie is ideal.
Hyman, anything under $5M, you sign him immediately after the expansion draft. With Rielly, it's a tough call, he has been playing better with Brodie but if he wants Torey Krug type money or more, I think he's done as a Leaf..

If they let Freddie walk there’s about $2M of his # left after Hyman’s raise for a new goalie and any other upgrades or resigning. Kerfoot $ could be used if they trade him in the off season. But I wouldn’t discount trading Rielly as an alternative. Moving Kerfoot won’t get you much other than room and $5 is bigger than $3.5 which might help get more than a discount goalie. (Move both Kerfoot and Rielly?) |

Yup, unless freddy returns to freddy of the first three years of his contract and takes the leafs deep in the playoffs, i dont see him getting extended. |
