I've worked from home for 9 years now, and have found a way to be productive during the day. Also, at one point, I was wasting 3 hours a day commuting (traffic, depending which office I had to go to work at), so that was a big win for me.

In the last 5 years it has also been a blessing, as I have been able to move back to Montreal to care for my mother while she went through cancer treatments and other illnesses.

The downside, I am not as social as I use to be, but as I get older, I think I am fine with that.

EDIT: Also, I get up a 5AM and am done by noon most days, with the occasional call in the afternoon.

Looks like it works well for you! I guess it was easier to get used to it when you could have a normal life outside of work. I’m starting to think we may never go back full time in the office, maybe just in an hybrid form. I’ll admit I really don’t miss the traffic part of going to work but the social side I really miss. Got to say I work with quite a nice bunch of people. Every so often, I’d bring it by Nintendo switch and we’d have epic Mario Kart tournament at lunch while eating pizza, in the big conference room with the huge TV, kinda like 4 tvs 43 inches put together...those were the days

this was the plan all along. companies will no longer have to have the high overhead for occupancy. big pharma pushing to isolate people leading to more mental illness thereby increasing profits. gotta give me a few minutes to figure out where big oil fits into all of this.
