I hate Rhys in the #2 hole. Need a guy that can hit for average. Nothing wrong with singles and doubles. They don't have any consistent contact hitters

Phillies swept the Braves to open the season last year and we know how that ended up.

Everybody has their moments of superior play and then leaving brown stains on the ice. The better the player the more it trends toward the former.
THis is a game for statistics becuase it's ALL chance. From goalies waving their legs while on their belly and making a save to PDOs in the crazy positive realm, chance, it's all chance.
Now toss in PROFESSIONAL opposition. THey aren't slouches no matter how bad the team. When the Copper Sabers look like steel, it's an inevitable outcome of CHANCE.
Improving a team means we have a better set of chances for a good outcome.
While we may complain about the current composition of the veteran core, we can trace what they've done and by projecting their outputs make multiple arguments. Conceding that they have NOT been productive has to be based on their efforts.
I have not seen a drop off of any significance in the play of Coots or G.
As Vorachek has stated you can't dominate a team for the entire game. If you do it it's an outlier. Don't plan on it but it's why we watch and hope.
WHen we look in and the opposite occurs (see ugly losses), there's a glimmer of unrealized potential that still intrigues.
Essentially you are a gambler. Good gamblers never allow emotion to taint their picks. Bad ones....they just go broke by loving wrong.
If I were not invested in this team's performance, I would go ahead and become a Lightning fan. But I'm not looking to change because the entertainment for me is a game that features my team. MY team.
WHile I may be disappointed, I actually feel that. WHen I am elated (not very often this year) it's because MY boys are doing the biting of butts.
THis is why, when Vorachek is killing anouther rush, I can deal with it. It's not like I can hold back his dinner. Yet to criticize in a useful maner, you've got to note the flaws and the strengths.
I appreciate the fans here and at BSH being attentive to a depth I rarely can muster.
We are the Koi fish in the water feature, wonderful but confined. While we think we have mastery of our environment, in fact, we are dependent on 'authorities' to feed us. No matter if you are a cynic or a blatant optimist, you get the chance to review the same material as everyone else and have as little influence. We just filter the information differently and spew dissimilar POVs.
WHen I was Popmpous Riot, I took it all seriously. Now I'm just pompous and not looking for a tussle but I am aware of how others may see things (no matter how erronously) and that I do not have to engage every differing post.
THe statistics will rule and I am not the dice roller. While I may question portions of their play, the coaches decisions and the grand plans of the executives Just keep the games close. Make it entertaining.
That's all I want....well that and a parade.

I have to admit he is doing well....I expected the worst last year every time he had the ball ( not as bad as Pinata, er, Pivetta, though)

Stating that a player is rushed does not necessarily mean that they don't deserve a spot on the team.

Is it possible to trade a more talented player for a lesser talented player and yet have a better team?
