We don't have the data as to know the efficacy of current vaccine on P1. But prognostications of less amenable and re-infection are being used. They might have to tweak a vaccine for it and treat P1 like early days of Covid outbreak in the meantime.

We'll see how it unfolds. It's a lot of unknowns which you find that part hard to grasp.

Here's another factor, Brazil mostly used the Russian Vaccine that was earlier available to them. Seems that it did little to stop the spread and they are up to nearly 4K deaths per day.

What we know are the Canuck players are feeling the effects more so than any other NHL team before them. This is not the same as before that you naively continue tell everyone.

Because the tests take so long to come back?

Early in the pandemic there was a company working on a rapid test that provided results in about 45 minutes, and they were portable, so teams could potentially have them right at the rink. Not sure what happened to this tech.

A while back there was news that it wasn't very accurate, dunno what came of it since then.

Yeah, I read that in some situations they had a lot of false positive/negative, but that when you set them up, kind of stationary, they were more reliable.
