I have to agree to this. I like Scotty. But I see him getting over 3 mil with term...and he deserves it. If the Flyers have all these guys coming like I keep hearing about, how do you justify paying a 3-4th line guy that type of scratch.

Anaheim for Gibson was it? As bad as our goaltending stats have been this year, with better team defence And better dmen, our goalies have proven to be very good. I think it’s an overrated too give up on hart at 22. We’d regret it.

Totally agree. If there’s a hockey trade out there to change up the chemistry, make it. I think more than just losing his play and ability to slot dmen correctly, nisky s departure messed up the chemistry of the team.

Sadly, I can’t see it happening. I expect we’ll be just playing out the last 15 games with nothing to play for.

The Vorecek contract is onerous and still has a few years left. JVR’s isn’t quit as bad and only has a couple years left. Both guys have shown they can still play. There have been a lot of Nights where by JVR has been the best Flyer on the ice. Vorecek has been inconsistent but still produces....not sure he will be by the end of the contract. With Vorecek it’s his defensive game that’s the most concerning to me. I’m not a fan of a player that picks and chooses when to back check. Unfortunately him and Sutter would be like oil and water.
The guys name I’ve heard for Gaudreau is Konecny...I’m not sure I would like that, but who knows what Fletcher thinks...the $ is close.

Thanks for the response. If I’m the flyers konecny is a non-starter in a Gaudreau trade and for that I’ve never seriously considered it. (But a man can dream)

While this is all just an unlikely hypothetical, with Calgary appearing to go into a re-tool I’d be down to take on the contract of decent but way overpaid players. Especially in a Gaudreau trade since I believe his value has slipped drastically since our western conference champions season. Taking on a bad contract will help maximize the return on him

Trade Laughton to a team like Colorado at the deadline for a 1st and you can use the 1st rounder as a sweetener for Seattle to take Jake. These are the kinds of gut wrenching moves that need to be made to churn this roster over
