I think the last game, although the result was a win featured a few moments that could easily justify VK getting a crack. Will it prompt some line shuffling. Does DQ use VK in place of JG? Or does he move some pieces. I understand the arguments on both sides. - Blueshirts4ever
I definitely think its time to get Kravstov in regardless
today is the day, because if not then when? games vs the Penguins and Islanders are coming up |

JG had a rough game last game, so Im fully expecting to see VK debut. IMO, the best way to make this happen is some small line shuffling
LAF, Zib, Buch
Bread, Strome, Kakko
Kreider, Chytil, Krav
PP stays the same. |

They have to, not only for the spark but they need a 15-20 game sample so they know if Kravstov can be a full go on the team next year. Also it will help them make a better decision on what to do with Buch this summer. |

ultimately even if Kravstov himself becomes trade bait he needs to dress in some NHL games
today has gotta be the day
and then they have a whole bunch of Devils games after the deadline I am sure he will dress for

Agree, get him in there already. And you’re right, 4 straight vs the Devils I believe. Gotta take 3/4 at least but they’ve actually been playing pretty decent lately it seems. |

And there is nothing wrong with these lines and if you want CK on for AF late to take care of the d-zone then fine. I think this is actually likely bc I’m not sure DQ would be comfortable using VK on a line with 72 and 13 bc he just walked in the door. |

I think that’s exactly why Krav hasn’t gotten in yet. DQ seems very hesitant to drop Kreider but as long as he’s still seeing PP and PK time I don’t see the problem. That needs to be the long term move. |

Kravtsov is supposed to be a sniper. They should try him on 2nd PP unit over Blackwell too! Lets really see what the kid is bringing to the team!

We were talking about minutes, thats where the debate came. On how to get LAF more minutes.
Me suggesting these line combos isnt because I want him to get more minutes, which will in turn happen playing on the top line. Its more about line balance and Ive been saying all season that Kreider should have been on the 3rd line the whole time, however still playing on the PP1 and PK. |

The issue with PP2 is they dont have a reliable center and that line gets constantly reshuffled. |

Got it, we are 100% on the same page then. I just want to see him get 12-14 minutes rather than the 8-10 he has been recently. PP2 definitely needs an adjustment too. I think next year with Lundkvist in the mix and maybe move Strome down and Kakko up we will have more balance between the two.

Actually, I think Buch (if hes still here) should go play with his guys on the PP1. I feel Kreider and Kakko are similarish in their play. Kakko's strength and ability to maintain position could make him that net front presence for the PP2. I agree on Lundkvist, seems hes very similar to Panarin being a RH shot but likes to play the left side. |

PP1 needs to get off the ice a bit sooner. PP1 has scored only 2 gaols past the 1min. mark of the PP. After a minute, get off and lets see what PP2 can do. No reason to change the players on PP2 until they actually get some time

the problem with this idea is how to pull it off
even when PP1 doesn't score they are extremely effective at keeping the puck and applying pressure, they can't just skate to the bench at the 1 minute mark if they are in the middle of a play

Never really pictured Kakko as a net front guy. But maybe he can become one. If his strong board play can translate to holding his own in front of the net I would love to see it. I’ve said it in the past, I’m so curious to see what he develops into, I think his potential is limitless. Just needs to get a step quicker and develop his wrist shot which will come over time. |

Adam Fox one of Brian Lawton’s “6 most fun players to watch” with the likes of McDavid, Kane, McKinnon, etc. Don’t love Lawton, but glad Foxy is starting to get the recognition he deserves. |
