I just posted the same gif in the Red Wings blog without seeing this

The Svechnikov blog?

Yeah, I’d thought about posting it there as well. I’d really like Lou to pick up the lesser Svechnikov.

I really like his game. No idea why Stevie waived him. I mean, he’s nowhere near the worst forward on that roster.

I'd like to think Lou is passing up on these guys because he is looking for bigger and better before the deadline

I think there’s a pretty good chance Lou gets someone none of us are suspecting. Nobody knows what the hell that guy is doing.

Not a bad idea to have a goalie rammer for the playoffs.

I’d have him 2RW with Nelson and move Bailey to the left side. Beauvillier moves up to 1LW.
- Wildschwein

I agree, I’d put Palmieri w Nelson and Bailey too. Only thing is we never really replaced (the irreplaceable) Lee though. I kinda like Beau with JGP and Wahlstrom. I think I’d target Bobby Ryan for Bailey and Nelson line and spend the balance on 1st line LW, just not sure who that would be yet.

It is an interesting point to discuss when it comes to Palmieri. Ultimately someone will have to play on their offside.

I’m not a fan of lines with all one handed shot. Like the second line currently is all left shots. If we add Palmieri to first line than they’re all right shots. And I wouldn’t take Ebs off Barzal line so to me Palmieri isn’t the right fit unless he’s on second line.

Kind of is what it is and you figure it out. If we have an opportunity to get him I would think Lou pulls the trigger. I’ll say it again though he may go off the board I have a good feeling he’s going to do something substantial. Hopefully he doesn’t fail me

I can’t imagine Lou not adding with the money available from Lee and the playoff run we made last year. JGP and Greene were perfect adds. I saw an interview with him a week or two back where he mentioned JGP and AG specifically as character guys, leaders, that walked in and fit with team chemistry without a hitch. He likes character guys and that’s what he’ll look for. (I realize I’m not telling you anything you didn’t already know but I thought it was a great interview.)

He actually talked and revealed a lot in that particular interview...

Just about any interview with that guy is great because he doesn’t give them often and pretty much never reveals much he’s like a clam

Did you see it? Was played during a period intermission in a game last week or two. Nonetheless I agree he might go off the board and grab someone no one is thinking of but I’m pretty confident he’ll get at least one forward (if not two) and possibly a depth d man (although Hickey has been decent imo).

Yeah I did. I can see him getting two forwards if he can swing it if he can only get one maybe he’ll add defensive depth but I think it’s less of a priority now with hickey and aho(who I thought was serviceable). I doubt he’s thinking Hall that would be a last ditch, have no choice kind of play imo.

I agree. Definitely excited to see what he does. I’m guessing he’ll add UFA’s, and ones that he feels would fit in the future and likely to resign like JGP and AG. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy that would waste picks for rentals. Even if he overpays I think whoever he adds will be guys he expects to likely be part of the team beyond the playoffs. Just my thoughts.

He’s going to have a real hard time signing anyone we trade for unless he doesn’t plan on resigning some of our existing players...

It depends who he targets. I can’t see him giving a first plus whatever else to rent hall although I believe we need a top 6 LW for Barzal. I keep mentioning Bobby Ryan but he’s a low risk high reward guy to me and only under contract for $1MM. I can’t see Lou trading Beau (plus?) for Wood as much as I like woods game.
