Questionable when you factor in their contracts.
- hereticpride

Talking all players not just the vets. Jake and JVR can not be moved in a straight up hockey deal. Those 2 and Hayes are the only 3 that are "unmovable" imo

I move them all. Time for a lot of fresh faces and players imo.

Curious what would you give Laughton to resign here?

Modest raise. 2.5-2.75 range. If he doesn't like it, move on.

How many years?

IMO no way he takes that amount. We shall see.

You haven't ever called them out for THEIR stupid. Ever. You are a champion of the team management, not the team. Otherwise you would be fighting for change and improvement, not making excuses and minimizing the suck...

I actually have come around on Laughton. If he isn't traded, I think he could be your 3rd line center depending how things shake out. I don't know what will happen with Patrick and Frost coming off injury still hasn't proved he can take a full season down the middle.

If he goes to another team I think he gets in the neighborhood of 3.75-4m per over 4 years, maybe 3.5m. He stepped up in the playoffs last year, is extremely versatile, can skate and shoot the puck.

With current prices and even with a flat cap, 3.5-4m can be done by other teams.

His play has been an issue. But the signing wasn't in my eyes. Especially when you don't know what depth you have at center with Patrick and Frost.

And yes I am saying it is magnified due to a shorten season. Has it been good, no. But this team had times of going on ten game winless streaks in the past where we thought it was the worst hockey ever, they just had more games to rebound.

- J35Bacher

Saying it's magnified due to the shortened season is absurd. They gave up the most goals in a season in franchise history. Nothing is being magnified. As a team, they're awful.

He’s on the payroll. Not gonna happen.

Kind of genius that Comcast has most of the hockey writers in Philly on the books. Even Mikey Miss has a Comcast tv deal now and is suddenly very soft on them after years of shredding them.

Laughton and Raffl as rentals wouldn't be worth much. Maybe a 3rd round pick for Laughton, Raffl 5th or 6th round.
- PLindbergh31

They are clearly worth more as combo but Laughton was a First round pick
Raffl was undrafted so anything is a win

I dont think you can count on Patrick for anything at this point. I don't right him off just let it play out.

This...I know people have mentioned the condensed season as a big factor, but in reality they played 17 games in March. Normally they play 15. 2 more games is not a significant increase. There's really no justifiable excuse for the month this team had.

Do we really need to resign Claude Giroux at that time? I am not a hate on him. I actually can't stand Voracek and would love to see him moved but I know his deal makes that very tough. how long has Giroux been captain? It's not all on him but doesn't there need to be some change moving forward?
- J35Bacher

Voracek is a very good player just on the wrong team

We could all use some tips from a seasoned veteran for how to deal with watching our team moving forward if March becomes the standard

G has been one of the best and classiest guys to wear the OB. Hate to see him go, but for his sake, his legacy here will be captaining the longest stretch of soft mediocrity in the history of the team...

You could have driven a dump truck through Moose turd's 5-hole last night.

I can't believe these players two weeks after losing 9-0 allowed last night to happen. Imagine not caring about being laughed at? The Flyers are the punchline of the NHL.

I am not excusing the play. But it is magnified. Normally you have season spanning from October to june. West coast trips and canada trips. This season is different so there is a magnification on it. I am not using it as a excuse at all. THEY HAVE PLAYED POOR.

The last few weeks seeing AV's roster decisions and now his post game comments, saying his team was ready to play tonight, wanted a good game, refusing to comment on the teams worst month of hockey ever, having no answer as to why this is going on .....the accountability has to start with him. I had high hopes for him as a bench boss, but this train wreck of a month can't be excused, and mirrors his handling of the Rangers when they fell off (leading to his firing). I'm not thrilled about the idea of firing another coach, but I don't believe this coaching staff is the right fit for the roster any longer.
- Flyerfan2868

I admit I really like AV. I thought what he accomplished preCovid was amazing. The way the flyers were playing before the stoppage was the way I had been waiting to see for years.

So I confess that I'm scratching my head now about AV. I cannot understand how we still have the same defensive coach, maybe goalie coach too, after what we're all witnessing. And I suppose I question AV himself when I just see the absolutely most predictable playing: in the offensive zone get the puck low, try to pass it back up the boards to the defenseman, who tries to get a shot through, which is pretty low percentage, and if it gets blocked there is a odd man Rush the other way. In the defensive zone, one forward hangs out by the boards by or past the faceoff dot, and the next forward hangs out in the neutral zone past the center line. Stretch passes to the far forward are hail Marys, and since the forward along the boards never ever ever moves his feet to come back for the puck, the opponent is ready to intercept the pass. There doesn't seem to be any strategy to get close to the net in the offensive zone either, unless we are lucky enough to completely set up and get jvr in front to deflect. When that complicated even strength setup doesn't happen, it's all lame perimeter shots.

It's really hard to watch
