The thought of this team being buyers is absolutely ridiculous.

You think this has been bad. Wait til they play Boston and Washington.

Absolute disgrace they are. I’m also starting to look up the chain at av fletch and Scott. The pointless move to waive ghost, then we replace him in the lineup with Gus after almost losing the other night. Good work guys. From the outside it looks like they are trying to lose.

Flyers should be thanking their lucky stars that they don’t have to play teams like Tampa, Colorado, Vegas or even Toronto/Montreal right now and that the WFC isn’t open to full capacity. There would definitely be jerseys on the ice by now.

I agree on most counts here. Had the flyers started the season in the easy north division maybe they wouldn’t be so bad off now, but I’d take my chances. That div has several bad teams including Edmonton That is in a playoff spot even though they stink.

Regardless, ever since the covid break, we’ve been horrible. I think the team has checked out and are making plans for summer.

This really isn't about talent. Or holes in the lineup, which they do have. There's something far bigger going on with this team. In the 3rd period of the previous game, there was a clear and distinct difference between the two periods before it and with all 3 periods last night. A clear difference in intensity and urgency. The PP execution is just ridiculous. Give the puck to Giroux on the half wall. Look around, nothing. Pass back to Provorov, he skates laterally a few strides and gives it back to Giroux or over to Voracek. Voracek looks around, nothing there, back to Provorov or trying a low percentage cross ice pass that isn't there. No movement, no creativity. The defense just sits in their diamond and says, well we don't have to do anything. They will kill the time themselves.

I have to question the coaching decisions last night. Why did they scratch Kevin Hayes?

The puck movement on the PP is very slow and as you stated, quite predictable. Provorov should not be on the top PP unit. Ghost is far better at it, but who knows if/when he'll be back in the lineup. Unfortunately, this teams struggles go far deeper than the PP

How apropos is it that today is April Fool's Day with the state of this franchise.

If they were playing the big boys like you mention how worse could it be? Would they be losing 13-0 instead of 9-0?

I pulled up the record for the 1992-1993 Ottawa Senators. A team that went 10-70-2. Their worst shutout loss was 3-0. That should put things in perspective.

The fact they are two weeks removed from a 9-0 loss, a week removed from an 8-3 loss..... Losing 6-1 to a team with an 18 game losing streak minus their best player as an encore tells you everything you need to know.

The players on this team have zero pride, they could care less that they are a punch line/league laughing stock.

Morning flyers fans. Start off with a breakfast burrito.

I am rooting for this collapse to continue as that may be the only possible way you see massive changes. Be very curious what Holmgren and Clarke say behind closed doors; if anything at all.

Unfortunately the entire coaching staff needs to go. They are not adding any value and clearly have no answers. There are better options out there.

This entire lineup needs to be reconstructed. It is just a total joke at this point. Just an unlikeable lazy care free attitude group.

The major question is this GM the guy to do this type of overhaul?

At least I am entertained by this season. Management is lucky no fans allowed as the ones who would actually go would be booing these soft player off the ice.

Lol, I honestly can’t tell if you were being facetious or not, but Hayes was in the lineup last night. He was a -2 and for all intents and purposes, was invisible, as has been the case most every game. I agree with what you wrote about difference in intensity and urgency. It’s obvious this group just doesn’t click with one another...when you skate away from a teammate getting mugged, that tells me all I need to know about the team as constructed, as well as the coaching staff.

Talent is absolutely part of the problem. The talent has been overrated.

The big decision looms large. Sell or buy????
- HenryHockey

Wait what? Buy? This organization is dead, it will need an offseason ful of miracles to revive it by removing a lot of dead weight.

Needs a complete tear down and re-build...Hextall (frank)ed this up by straddling the lose in the first round and accumulate a lot of mediocre talent like he did, versus a complete tear down and re-build...now flat cap and this org is toats for at least 5-7 years...at least that long.

Judging by the reactions here and on Facebook I think the front office is in for a big surprise when things open back up to full capacity.

Flyers just posted on Facebook that single game tickets are on sale and it’s got more laughing reactions than anything.

Also, isn’t the fact that single game tickets are available an indication that even season ticket holders aren’t buying them right now?

What kind of idiot would pay to go watch this team unless you're a fan of he team they're playing. Only people with more money that brains would spend a nickel on this trash organization.

The team is rudderless and going nowhere fast. I am not so sure this can even be fixed in 1 off season. Money usually rules all though free agents to be have to be watching this poop show with huge reservations.

Bunch of gutless entitled players. If it hasnt already better hope it doesn't rub off on the guys you want to build around. Add goalie to the list they will need to address this offseason. Need someone capable of possibly splitting with Hart.

https://twitter.com/Broad...5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=

Yeah coach they looked it. Another sign you are fn clueless. You have a couple day break coming up, playing arguably the worst teams in the league where yo need to win and you ice and inferior lineup. There was no hockey reason to sit the 3 players you did in favor of 3 inferior ones.

Looks like Ronalds plan hasnt panned out like he hoped. But hey give it a few more years.

True but maybe WFC full capacity is one reason what keeps them going
Can understand that Laughton and Raffl dont want to fight at the moment with UFA so close when they big earners are doing so little in the defence department

Hi Bill,

When do you think York will start playing for the Phantoms, any chance I will get to see him Saturday?

From the outside watching last night with morbid curiosity... it seems the PP .. dare I say, could use someone in front with some nasty .. perhaps someone along the lines of the Wayne train.

Hell I don’t know, I’ve got my own disaster of a squad to watch and worry about ...

If I’m Fletcher I keep this coaching staff. At least long enough that the players will be dying to waive their nmc’s. Double down and tell the players it’s on you to fix it and the coaches go nowhere. Buckle in.

Chucks gotta be drooling over US boy Eichel being named Captain of the Flyers later this summer.

You’re not wrong. Flyers lost any ounce of mojo they had when Simmonds was traded. Since he left it’s like watching senior citizens play shuffleboard.

Waive Bobby and maybe that motivates Giroux to waive his NMC.

Bill do you get the sense at all they will approach Giroux to waive his NMC?

Who is buffalo going to want from this roster!!! Other teams have more to offer. It would probably take a massive over pay on the flyers end

I have been someone who advocated for Brandon Montour on numerous occasions, obviously don’t need him now but he ended up putting in 3-4 goals against us

Bringing up young players into this dysfunctional team environment is exactly what they shouldn't do. I can understand how you would think that with the young players who are already here, thriving so well.
