So 8 is too high? What about a nice even number like 5%?
- mickel25

Would you be willing to play the 5 question game? My friendly promise is that I will show you in 5 questions that it is irrational to sign Couturier next year.

Ok, tracking better now. You seemed to agree that the Coaches had to go as the original poster stated and that was not how you have spoken to this point.

- JW98FlyerFan

Except now you are not. Read the last line of the first para of mine you quoted above. (I said it was too early to give up on coaches/mgmt).

I actually prefer the randomly assign a percentage game. But sure why not.

Excellent.

Now, 2nd question.

What is Couturier's likely contract (term and AAV) next summer for us?

At the rate at which this is progressing, you will have to hold on till Giroux has his 2nd child.

Yikes, that bad?

I'm honestly interested in hearing this. I know Couturier is going to want paid and all, but I'm sure the Flyers will oblige.

It’s like waiting for the water to boil. Watching the pot and nothing happens...walk away and it boils over.

Sorry, you nay have misread/misunderstood my original query. Contenders are many, but there is only 1 winner.

Lets be more precise about this. If you were a bookie, what odds would you offer for Flyers to win the cup once in the next 4 years?

(Given the confusion re: the same question, I am going to treat this series as 1 question)

EDIT: Alternatively, you could simply rank teams in likelihood of winning at least 1 cup in the next 4 years in your head, and say where Flyers rank in that order of likelihood. We will get approximate odds from that.

- PT21

I would give the Flyers a 12% chance of winning the cup in the next 4 years.

Fine. You said 8+, shall we settle on 8.5? Or 8.25? (I need a reasonably precise #).

And when you clarify, here is my 3rd question:

What is the price of veteran mentorship/leadership?

Needless to say, teams value leadership/mentorship and bring it in the locker room whenever they can esp with young teams. Staal might play that role with Habs, Thornton/Simmer with Leafs, etc. etc.

Lets say you have 2 centers: Identical positions, identical projected stats, identical expected durability over the relevant time period. One has experience and is a vet, the other does not.

How much more would you be willing to pay for the intangibles alone? Remember, any more $ you allot, takes away from what you are able to spend elsewhere.

EDIT: Please take a look at the question above.

I have a question. When do we get to the part where it shows that it is irrational to sign Couturier next year?

This is not a let's say game.
