I like AV. If you want to sell me on Oskar and Patty needing rest, ok, possibly. But to then neuter your team's leading goal scorer in Fatabee with Twarynski and Bunnamen is puzzling.
- Pelle31Forever

The Flyers neuter people, it’s what they do.

Peter Laviolette refused to tweak his his system when we gave him Nicolas Grossmann and Luke Schenn.

I’m at a bar, I won’t be able to hear Darren Drager, please give me play by play on the Flyers at the deadline based on his thoughts

Focusing on getting Hart back to form....perhaps makes a goaltending move if he needs more time...need to make a decision on what to do with Laughton. Signed York and Fletcher made the call on waiving Ghost instead of other players.

Cam York signed and it’s for this season. I wonder if we will see him soon.

Until something else happens, waiving Gostisbehere and not playing him tonight makes little sense.

A minor rental goalie doesn’t sound like the worse idea. You have to sign Laughton. I’d still like to upgrade on defense regardless of the outcome of this game. The next two periods could change my mind.

Seems like it but for what. They're going to lead us to the Cup? I'm a huge AV fan and he was my pick when they were in the hiring phase but he has done a poor job this season in my opinion. It's on the players more but he has not been good in my opinion.
- MJL

I don’t care how you put this lineup together it’s not going to the cup. I don’t have a problem with it. Their best players need to be their best players.

Flyers have had issues all season with forecheck structure and F3 positioning. On the Lazar goal, all 3 forwards are down around the goal line. The replay is not conclusive other than for a few seconds, Voracek definitely did not start hard right away to get back.

Agreed but why put young player development on the back burner? For what? Why look to make a move in season? For what?

I’m glad someone said it first. Vigneault has been more apart of the problem than the solution.

AV said it he had to be put on taxi squad to assist in making Patrick and Lindblom decision to not play tonight.

To clarify “needing to draft high for a better chance” *at winning a cup

“grass is always greener...” You have often accused folks on here of being too optimistic about the development of Flyers young players and prospects. Meanwhile, praising the players on bottom-feeder teams saying just give them more time. Their future looks bright!

I agree totally. I’ve never seen such a yo-yo with on ice changes from game to game. And many head scratchers.
Hard to build any continuity especially on defense.

I have said it numerous times. He is an archaic coach who is average.

Didn't realize if the Sabres lose tonight it's the longest losing streak in NHL history.

Pre shootouts, the longest winless streak in NHL history is 30, 1980 Winnipeg Jets.

In the words on another famous coach, “you play to win the game”. If AV starts making lineup decisions based on developing players or stroking egos instead of trying to win games then he should be fired. You can question his decisions this season and that’s fair because most haven’t worked out, but benching the kids worked last game and he is focused on winning.

If you are the HC and we are eliminated from the playoffs, then it is ok to see what you have and play younger players and prospects more.
