I don’t think Blackwell or PDG have much trade value, if Gauthier starts getting some minutes I could see teams wanting him. The other 2 are a dime a dozen in FA although Blackwell has been much more than I expected.
- nyrangers9479

I mean, just because they don't have first round value doesn't mean they don't have any value.

Even if they got a fourth for PDG or a third for Blackwell, I'd be fine with that. Though Blackwell is the perfect type of player you want on the bottom half of your roster (cheap, produces, etc.)

Yea I honestly think Blackwell has a lot of value to a contender. Can play in the bottom 6, cheap contract this year and next. Will help produce and bring energy. If I am the Rangers I wouldn't just give him away for a 6th but someone offers a 3rd or 4th, hell yea sign me up

Demko and VAN 5 years 5 million a year

I wonder if that's what we are looking at with Shesterkin contract

- jimbo83

I think Shesty will get a bit more than that. I hope Fox and Shesty go a similar route with their contracts in that they dont go for the bridge deal and go for the long term extension right out the gate. It will help us big time in the long term.

Id hate to see him go, but with so much depth at wing, if the right deal comes along Im all for it.

I am gonna say saturday

there's too many damn wingers

and there's still people pissed they traded Lemieux and even still people pissed that Fast is gone

- jimbo83

Fast has been getting time on the 2nd line in Carolina. If he was still here, he would be blocking Kakko. There just wasn't any room here for Quickie.

Plus , he is being outplayed by Blackwell who is on our 4th line ( for 1/3 the $$$ cost ). Gotta let Fast go and move on already...

Goaltenders can be a bit of a risk signing long term after a small sample size. Both have played less than a 100 games. Going five years seems a little long. We’ve all seen goalies get figured out after a year in the league ,Look at Hart. I may go bridge first and and see a bigger sample size.

Remember the Hamburglar? What a total flash in the pan and he got PAID.

Shesty has performed and excelled in every league he's played in, so i wouldn't be as worried with him.

I think another aspect to this is theyre building a defense in front of him for the next decade. A goalie having that kind of relationship and consistency in front of him will only make him better.

The fact that the sabres just scored 6 goals and neither of Hall or Skinner scored is very Buffalo

AV is a trash coach. He took over teams that were built by previous coaches and destroyed them, VAN NYR and now PHI. The team that went to the cup under AV was built by Torts, once AV got the system and players in place he wanted it was all down hill from there.
