it's funny its like I run down my reasons I think Kreider would be a good captain
"great with mentoring young players"
"is the guy the media goes to after games"
"works with the young players in the offseason with training"
"teammates love him"
everything I say is "doesn't make him a good leader, doesn't make him a great leader"
like a damn robot

“As much as it is what he’s doing, it’s about what people in the lineup are not doing,” Quinn said. “We went 5-2 [Tuesday] night, feel good about the way we played, we feel good about the way a lot of guys played. Our decision to getting him in, there’s two parts to it.
“It’s us wanting to get him in and him earning the opportunity to get in, but also you may want to say, ‘Well this guy needs to change, this guy probably doesn’t deserve to be in the lineup.’ There’s a couple things that go into that decision-making process.”
Quinns reasoning behind not getting VK into the line up sooner rather than later is asinine. Still makes me question if he is the right coach or this team. We are in the middle of a rebuild playoffs would be a bonus. Get him in and lets see what he has.
Prior to Tuesday’s 5-2 win over the Capitals, Quinn said he was “pissed” at himself for not playing the kid line of Alexis Lafreniere, Filip Chytil and Julien Gauthier more in Sunday’s loss in Washington. He alluded to being at a crossroads with wanting to reward the players who are playing well, while also understanding that he has an entire locker room “to answer to.”
“When you’ve got a young line, you’re going to have to be patient and allow them to grow,” Quinn said Tuesday. “[But] depending on the game situation, there may be some changes to some of those lines to give it a little bit more of a veteran presence on that line and mix the lines up.”
In his own words, he just doesnt know how to balance teaching and going for a win. |

My only beef with why Im not a huge fan of Kreider as captain is he has had bouts in the past with his own consistency demons on the ice. It really gets to him, he had those string of games where he disappears for a while and cant get out of his head. Things I feel are not great qualities for a captain. This season hes been excellent through a tough year but Im not ready to crown him yet. |

I'm not sure if they're waiting to see how Fox grows and if he becomes a leader in the locker room or Zib to have come out of his slump (he has) but I really don't see how Kreider hasn't been named captain. He does all the things that you want a leader to do. I'm sure we all wish he had a little more scoring touch to go along with his speed but he embodies everything that you want from a captain.
Anyone that says otherwise can go be a fish sticks fan.

I think the Georgiev/DeAgelo fiasco Kreider is the one who stood up to the media after it happened speaks volumes
and if someone else gets named captain, in tough times or tough losses then that guy has to be the one to take the role with dealing with the media, they can't still go to Kreider
dealing with the media is a pain in the ass, but it's the job of the leader of the group in NY

Maybe he will step up to the plate knowing he has to. Or crumble under the pressure and become a shell of himself, develop a drinking habit and be benched after he poops his hockey shorts mid game.

I got into last night on twitter with a guy who pretty says he'll stop being a Ranger fan if they ever named Kreider captain

Good riddance.
Emotional, fair weather fans can go self-medicate themselves rectally with Xans/Fentanyl tablets as they try to find "purpose" in their vapid lives. |

They should have beaten the Flyers back to back games...both times had 3 goal leads going into the 3rd.
Man the Flyers are a hot mess. And I love every second of it.
I hope they are buyers at the deadline. - TPC
Their defense is so bad: no structure, poor positioning and goalies that can't make the big save when needed... |
