I was wondering if the Leafs should pick up Ghost, and then deal Dermott.

Then I saw Ghost's salary - $4.5M cap hit, and decided we don't want him.

And then I looked at Dermott's output - 1 goal and 1 assist in 31 games, and realized we couldn't give him away anyways.

What the frank is up with Dermott? If he isn't a puck-moving defenceman, what the hell is he?

I haven’t liked him since that Speedo picture made its appearance.

Adding a goalie like Bernier, who is playing on a horrible team, and putting up above average numbers, I think, would be better than a Reimer playing on a good team with below average numbers. Sure he has more wins, but that’s more the team in front of him. Yes, he has a slightly higher GAA but his save% is 11 points higher. If they retain half his salary, he would only be $1.5 mil.

I read somewhere that they are pulling him from the roster for a few days - they are going to work on some mental things, and don't want him even thinking about playing right now.

I picked him to win the Vezina in the prediction thread.

Oops.

Yeah, I saw that.. I have Hart in one of my two hockey pools

Not good enough for the NHL?

188 nhl games...so far

i mean if I am being that fan... Noah Juulsen picked 9 sports before Dermott has 48

My wild unedumacated guess is that some team plucks him, thinking they can turn him around.

Juulsen looked pretty damn good before getting 2 pucks in the face and having headaches for 2 years. Or at least looked like a solid option on the right side moving forward.

He's a borderline NHL defenseman in Florida now. I wish him the best since not playing for 2 years clearly hurt his development.

How unlucky do you have to be to get hit by deviated shots to the face... at the exact same spot, in the same game.

I don't think any of us will ever recover from seeing that disturbing image. Well Roeper seemed fine with it. To each their own.

He's basically scoring at a 15g / 33pt pace for a defenseman. He is net -2 at 5v5. I don't think that much of him, but he is probably the most effective offensive play driver on Philly's back-end this year (granted against weaker competition). Ghost isn't the principal problem. Myers & Sanheim are far worse, but Ghost makes almost twice what Myers does.

I think I saw the horse flinch so it needs a bit more beating. If the goalie knows he’s playing the shooter he can can come out to cut down the the angle and he’s at least in a position to make one decent play. Otherwise he’s caught between being set for a cross cross slide and moving out on the shooter.
