Im wondering what this type of losing is going to do to players like Dahlin. Feels like its ruining him.
- Archaic

Dahlin was the one who gave the puck away creating the 2 on 1 for the game winning goal in OT. He's been horrible this season. He has zero confidence right now. It's too bad because the talent is clearly there. But Krueger kept telling him to stay back. Dahlin is a horse. You need to let him run. Or skate. Use his God given Hockey ability. The Sabres are literally ruining him. I agree.

Politics shouldn't come into play but I at least have to wonder if Dubas/Keefe have the Thornton variable to consider.

Option 1 - add a top 6 guy to really shore up the top 3 lines. But, that cements the 4th line options as Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds and Kerfoot.

Option 2 - add a bottom 6 guy and let Thornton get some shifts with the top 6 and keep shuffling him, Hyman and Kerfoot.

I know what I would do ...but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out with the vets.

I think it’s a Hyman variable that matters. Top line guy allows Hyman to shore up the third line. Third line, defensive focused guy and Zach plays on the top line.

Yep. I am willing to trade Mac Hollowell/Marincin for him if Buffalo retains

And when Andersen and Campbell are both hurt, you have Hutch... And 3 goalies with a combined 1 NHL start.

Yeah I definitely am worried about that being a thing in the playoffs well before I am worried about whether we are going to need Petan to step up to the third line.

I fully agree. I think Dubas has had his hand forced in a direction no one thought he would need to go. It's why I'm suggesting Dubnyk from San Jose. No idea on his numbers but he's a UFA this year. Makes like 2.1 million so retain half and easily fit him in and likely is cheap. Throw a 3rd rounder at the Sharks for retaining the salary and Hutchinson.

The playoff teams are decided in the North. No way Montreal is surpassed by Calgar or Vancouver.

Crap, with 5 wins Montreal could be tied for first.
6 games in hand, geez.

Sadly no truer post has been made on this forum. I feel like well resign him to two way deals until his 50

They’re going to have information on Andersen very soon. Campbell is supposed to play next game. I haven’t heard anything to suggest they’re concerned about Campbell but he’s going to need to play a bunch of games to show he can go. If they have to shut down Freddie, obviously they need to act.

But, they’ve made a decision that they don’t have what it takes up front. They can’t ignore that. If they have to get a goalie as well, then do it.

I think Wedgie did the math and the only part that could make it interesting is Calgary plays 5 games against the habs. If they somehow won all 5 in regulation it would make it interesting.

Montreal is a much better team though.

Odds are they won't win 5 in a row but yeah, they could still finish higher than 4th.

I bet Gally would be VERY motivated playing against the Habs in a playoff series.

Habs have had relative success against the Jets as well (except in OT but.. that's another story).

So far, they've split the games vs Edmonton or Toronto so no real advantages there.

Although, Halleybuyck (butchered it) is good enough to steal a series so.... that's always scary.

Jets D blows but they have a deep group of forwards and a Vezina goalie in Helly. I wouldn't want to play them in the first round but that's just me. Give me the Oilers and their 2 superstar team.

I was wondering if the Leafs should pick up Ghost, and then deal Dermott.

Then I saw Ghost's salary - $4.5M cap hit, and decided we don't want him.

And then I looked at Dermott's output - 1 goal and 1 assist in 31 games, and realized we couldn't give him away anyways.

What the frank is up with Dermott? If he isn't a puck-moving defenceman, what the hell is he?

Not good enough for the NHL?
