The fact we're still in the top 4 despite not playing for that long is.... well surprising to say the least. - Scabeh
Well, that's what happens when Calgary wants to race Buffalo to the bottom

Doing quick math, if the Habs go .500 for the rest of the season (you are currently on a .600 pace) you finish with 62 points.
For Calgary or Vancouver to finish with 63 points, they'd have to go 15-5-0 (.737). They are currently playing at .47
Calgary still has 5 games against you, so in theory they could make it interesting, but it's pretty much over.

I read somewhere that they are pulling him from the roster for a few days - they are going to work on some mental things, and don't want him even thinking about playing right now.
I picked him to win the Vezina in the prediction thread.
Oops. - Atomic Wedgie
A lot of people picked Hart to win the Vezina:
You, dmented, Dozzer, gerges, 21peter, Pacificgem and fifty_missions all picked Hart.

Yeah because you are using recency bias.
Have you paid any attention to JC's career the past 10 years or are you just going based off this one injury he is trying to recover from?

We have a lot more of those than we do goalies. - joel878
No we don't.
We have two bottom 6 caliber players in the top 6 and a meh 3C. Fully healthy.
Wait until we run into injury problems like we are with goaltending. If we want a deep playoff run that will happen.

Right I forgot TSN doesn't have recency bias.

Engvall is playing well, he isn’t going anywhere this year is my guess.
I realize we have a different opinion. We’ll see by the TDL I guess.

Realistically, he had a hand injury in 2015, but more concerning he had knee surgery in 2018 that caused him to miss more than a quarter of the season after it looked like he might be taking the starting job away from Quick.
I wouldn't be thrilled about his "lower body injuries" this year considering he's not that far removed from the knee surgery - but he did play 17 games at the end of 2018 and 26 games last year without any known incidents.

The way he's been playing, you never need the kid.
He'll bounce back, but he needs help. - Scabeh

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Hutch is an NHL goalie, but I don't think he was too bad last night. - Atomic Wedgie
He gave them a chance to win.
Smith was great, Rielly was horrible, bounces went Edmonton's way.
Can't blame Hutchinson for this one.

I like that also, the 3rd line with Hyman is really annoying.
Really nice cheap pickup in AG if he is able to play on the second line - senstroll
Politics shouldn't come into play but I at least have to wonder if Dubas/Keefe have the Thornton variable to consider.
Option 1 - add a top 6 guy to really shore up the top 3 lines. But, that cements the 4th line options as Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds and Kerfoot.
Option 2 - add a bottom 6 guy and let Thornton get some shifts with the top 6 and keep shuffling him, Hyman and Kerfoot.
I know what I would do ...but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out with the vets.

Smith has been great pretty much all season. He is more important to that team than McDavid.

There were plenty of rumors about the Habs trying to grab him 2 years ago.
Philly was asking for the goddamn moon. So it never happened.
