Oh please.
The guy was out a 4 AM completely drunk and he was supposed to practice the next morning for an upcoming game.
It's something everyone knew and plenty saw with their own eyes, myself included.
He wasn't treated unfairly, he was given every chance possible and blew it because he didn't take his job seriously enough.
Good for him if he finds a place where it works out. It's what? His 6th NHL team now? It's pretty much now or never for him. - Scabeh

Sounds about right.
For the record, I've always believed in Galchenyuk. He has all the tools to be a force in the NHL. It was obvious at 18, and it's still obvious now.
Just needs to focus on being a professional hockey player. - Scabeh
No matter what, at some point it has to be up to the player. I remember watching Dubnyk in Edmonton and he would make saves that neither he, nor anyone else, had any business making. Acrobatic and great reads on the play. 5 minutes later he'd let in a horrible floater that was unscreened and not deflected.
Eventually they gave up on him, and then off to Arizona and Nashville before landing in Minnesota. I recall a story with Dubnyk where he talked about how he knew this was his last kick at the can before becoming some journeyman never-was, and he found his focus and his game.
I think there are more players than we imagine who could have been so much more, but just didn't go to the next step when it was required. I think, whether we liked him or disliked him, this was the intended simplistic "Be a gud pro" message that Babcock tried to espouse.

Add to that those who still have pretty good careers but that could likely have been so much more.
Ribeiro went his whole career with alcohol problems but still posted over 60 points numerous times.
Imagine what he could have been if had been 100% dedicated.

Lankinen and Roope Hintz living up to my hype.
Lankinen is 4th in league in minutes played so far this season with a save percentage of . 921 (Much much better than CHI other two goalies) and is one of the reasons Chicago can still think about playoffs.
Hintz has 23points in 23 games so far this season. - MaximusAurelius
Maybe the Leafs should trade Matthews for them.

Hintz is only getting points because he's playing top line minutes alongside superstars
If you put him on a line by himself he would get far fewer points
Anybody can play with Pavelski and succeed
Besides, in the grand scheme of things he doesn't appear to be pushing his team over the top, Stars suck, he only cares about points, not winning |

Just reading the article on him in the Athletic, and they have this line:
"His ability to get himself into dangerous positions, and fire a shot in tight quarters, made him effective early on."
Kinda felt it was a perfect match to your line above. |
