Brandon Carlo could not see well out of his right eye. His blurred vision was so concerning that he required an overnight hospital stay. His brain was working slowly.

All of these post-concussion syndrome symptoms occurred on a play he cannot remember.

I don't even know how they properly institute change in that league. You can start by increasing the punishment for idiocy, but then people appeal and some "neutral" arbitrator looks at past cases to determine if the penalty is fitting and then rules that it's too severe based on past precedent. How do you effect change?

They need to seriously punish this stuff. The fact that the Wilson hit on Carlo was even up for debate as to whether it was clean or not is preposterous. Maybe they need to get someone who isn't used to living with debilitating brain trauma to run the DOPS.
