Yes. I’m also looking at the age. Hedman is 30. He was good but not didn’t dominate until about 24-25. At 24 both hedman is a step ahead.

If Hedman avoids injuries he can be elite through this contract and get another massive deal when he is 35.

Gus is actually terrific at getting pucks through. Maybe his single best trait and why he scores so many pts.

I have to disagree here. The gap between Hedman and Provorov is way bigger than that. Provorov is not close to being the player that Hedman is. A player like Hedman is like Pronger was. He completely controls the game. He controls the puck, the pace of play, where the puck goes and is dominant on both sides of the puck. Provorov is a good player but he is not in the class of Hedman

I don't see how our scales are different. I get that you're breaking it down in categories. I'll make my point again. Provorov is not close to Hedman in any category. Not now or when Hedman was 24. When Hedman was 24, he was finishing in the top 10 in Norris Trophy voting.

1. So, what's the point of waiving Ghost? Unknown, you can bet there will be guessing again tomorrow afternoon once we know if he is claimed or clears.

2. If he doesn't get picked up does that mean they'll be able to bring him back up and drop him back down to the taxi squad without having to expose him again? Yes, for 30 days or 10 games...something like that.

3. Is this just about clearing some cap space? At least partly, whether that motivation is for this season or next remains to be seen.

Hedman has a 72 point season, also a 63 season but Hedman doesn’t have to plus/minus seasons Pronger has. A lot in the plus 20 range. Wow!!

Devils have beaten Boston 3 times at the garden this year. The Bruins have 1 even strength goal against them, they just scored it. Bruins are 30th in the league 5v5 scoring, only Sabers are worse.

The difference between Hedman and Pronger won't be found in the pts or +/-.

Pronger was a nasty piece of work and there was literally no line he wouldn't cross to win. He was like Bob Clarke on defense. Hedman's a choir boy by comparison.

Just ask Dean McAmmond, Ryan Kesler and Tomas Holmstrom.
