He's looked really good since coming back from injury. It passes the eye test. The thing about McCann though is that he fluctuates between looking like something's finally clicked and has become a top 6 forward and going back to being totally invisible for like a month. It'd be great if he could maintain this for the rest of the season.

i thought he was very noticeable too. making driving plays with possession, a few really nice feeds, very fast through the zone, all while still looking to shoot with urgency.

glad they held on and did what they needed to do to get the two points. it was not a great game overall, but the grading curve needs to be lenient right now.

I’m not worried about making the playoffs anymore. I’m worried about whether or not we’ll be deep enough to make a push once we get there.

One other thing that has coincided with success lately. Pp and pk are 16th/17th in the league now. Lg average was all that was ever needed to be near the top and here we are with both. Hopefully it keeps up.

i dont think the playoffs are a lock. theyre going to have some tough stretches still really shorthanded against boston/washington etc. with all of the games being against each other, swings can happen fast. that being said, they have played their asses off, and i am fully with you where as long as they prospectively think malkin and bleuger will be back, they owe it to the troops on the ground to try to bring in any reinforcements they can. i wouldnt flush them completely recklessly, but i dont think any future piece should be automatically viewed as an untouchable sacred calf.

Lol so true. With McCann the talent is there, the consistency isn't. In a way he reminds of Rust before last year. Hopefully has the same result at some point.
