I love trotz he’s a great coach but his personnel decisions are having a negative effect on this team. It’s a joke at this point.

Kick him and Lou to the curb.

It was hilarious hearing the commentators suggest that Leo has made the top line better defensively, as though that's what the team needed with the loss of Lee. It's your top SCORING line and they are now producing less than half the gpg. How on iearth can a coach allow the top line to struggle like this without making a change?

Not really sure it defies explanation. Then to throw Johnston on the line that has been scoring makes it even more baffling. No matter how many times he throws that pile of garbage on scoring lines and gets the same result he does it again expecting something different like Johnston is going to magically transform into a scorer.

Ken Morrow was in Phoenix the other night. So wait until Derrick Brassard becomes out new top line option

So give me the lines you propose? Just want to see how you would try to construct 3 effective lines on both sides of the puck (4th line stays the same obv). They were blown out last game. To be fair they were much better tonight. I thought DeSmith played a great game when he came in. Took the 1st off but I thought they were the better team in the 2nd and 3rd.

I’m beginning to suspect that Bellows (frank)ed Lou’s dog.

Might be a good addition to The 3rd line. Don’t think he would be a 1st line option. Let’s be real.

I would throw bellows on the first or third line. I certainly wouldn’t have Komarov on the first line. If anything I would throw him on a line with Nelson and not destroy a scoring line with him. Johnston wouldn’t sniff the line up. He’s not good.. I would also have Beauvillier out there in spots playing instead of Komarov. Komarov wouldn’t get more then eight mins of ice time. The guy is terrible. You’re ok with Komarov playing on the first line for pretty much the entire game? Out there with a min and a half left and the goalie pulled?

You say yes to either of those things and we’ll just go ahead and agree to disagree I don’t care if Jesus Christ himself said it was a great idea

He certainly doesn’t want him in the line up. He played two shifts in the third last game and we got shelled. He probably still blamed him for the team giving up five goals in the second even though he didn’t play a second

Not an easy fix when your best line has an injury.
Leo played less 5v5 than Barzal and Ebs. He has mixed Beau in and shuffled things tonight. I think they played well enough to win tonight honestly. They played much better and were competitive in comparison to last game. You can’t disagree with that.

Of course not but I just gave you an option. Komarov on your first line is literally the worst option. Have him play with Nelson and Bailey in a limited capacity. Having him on the first line makes zero sense. Nobody can convince me otherwise because there’s no explaining it. I swear he keeps him there just to make a point. It’s so obviously not working and he just keeps doing it.

I was waiting for the game to end in the event they tied but here it goes. Islanders will miss the playoffs this is guaranteed. Lou and Trotz have failed the team and this great fanbase. Unless they trade this team is done. They will go 0-5 vs Washington with this sad lineup in place. Trotz and lou need to be kicked to the curb bunch of clueless morons.

I think there's no telling. Brassard knows the system and HAS played the top line with Barzy before. If they picked him up, I would hope he'd end up on the 2nd or 3rd line to free Beau to the top line....but Leo Komarov has spent the last several games as a fixture on our top line. I think that makes the possibility of Brassard joining that line much less far-fetched

Of course it’s plausible. I mean I hope not but I can see trotz doing it. I really hope he’s not given the option to begin with.

Garland is heavily rumoured to be available as well. He’s a scoring RFA winger making only 3/4 million. I’d happily give Arizona a 1st for him.

I don’t think Brass is the choice for filling Lee’s roll. We will agree to disagree. There are better options out there for that

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lou was sniffing around Garland AND Brassard.

Garland-Barzal-Eberle
Brassard-Nelson-Bailey
Beauvillier-Pageau-Wahlstrom
Conn Smythe Line

Or put Tito on the 1st or 2nd. That whole left side could be pretty interchangeable. What’s more, both wingers would combine for only 1.75 million, still giving the Islanders plenty room to add a depth defender. Since the Yotes don’t have a 1st, I’d guess both could be had for a 1st and a prospect (Bellows?).
