I didn’t think it would. With all the players that retired while on LTIR I figured it was a league approved work around. I still think it is. Bettman is just waiting for Benning to call so he can file the paperwork. Unfortunately, as player agents have learned, Benning can’t work a phone.

Wow, well at least their next game is against a bottom feeding team, that will put them back in the win column.

Which ones playing right wing?
- K-man25

Maybe if you played Marky at right wing he wouldn't have to dig the puck out of the net so much?

Just a thought...

Sorry, that I knowingly knew of taking the vaccine.
- golfingsince

All good.
I was one of the people I was referring to.
I live in and amongst a very vulnerable peoples and was called up at the last minute, to take a vaccine as it was about to expire.
I was not going to say no.
I am now micro-chipped, as the previous vaccine that I have taken, to help prevent/reduce severity of sickness have been deemed ineffective to track my whereabouts.
I am sure the people tracking my life will be comatose following my activities.

My name is definitely not Gary, and you are a fool if you you don't think that "they" are tracking you, if/when you get inoculated.😉
They have decided that my life is important, that makes me significant, in my somewhat dry and boring life.😁

you know what's up. you're not a sheep like the anti-maskers.

you know who's behind the anti-mask movement right? yup... it's big brother government and the surveillance industry.

what do you think happens when everyone wears a mask? you can't get caught on surveillance cameras, drones or facial recognition software.

big brother government and the military surveillance industry needs you NOT to wear a mask. that's why they are behind the propaganda for the anti-mask sheep.

it's funny how i had several memos from top government officials and the military industry stating how they started the anti-mask movement but now they seem to have been "scrubbed" from the internet. i'd tell you guys to look into it, but they've removed/censored all of it.

As an aside to the joke, they actually can verify you with a mask

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-55573802

Japanese company NEC, which develops facial-recognition systems, has launched one that it claims can identify people wearing masks.

It hones in on parts of the face that are not covered up, such as the eyes, to verify their identity.

Verification takes less than one second, with an accuracy rate of more than 99.9%, NEC says.

From the Flames blog:

Things aren’t much better at the other end of the ice. The Flames make too many head scratching mistakes defensively and, despite pouring a ton of resources into the position, they can’t get any goaltending.

Jacob Markstrom, the marquee free agent netminder coming off consecutive (team) MVP seasons in Vancouver, has looked like a shell of himself.

He owns a very disappointing .902 save percentage and ranks 68/77 with a Goals Saved Above Expected number of *checks notes* MINUS 8.99.

That sandwiches him between 40-year-old Ryan Miller and fringe NHLer Marcus Hogberg, who plays for the lowly Ottawa Senators. I’m sure that’s what the Flames had in mind when getting into a bidding war for Markstrom's services.

Knew Marky was going to crash. That's why Aqua has to throw a casino full of money at Clark to come back. It's the goalie coach as much as the goalie

Thank you. 😀

Now since Van dropped 2 spots in draft. With Vans first selection they are proud to announce.

I can honestly say that I have a hard time drafting a kid in the top 10 when his rankings tend to be 20+

Clark needs to retire a Canucks Goalie coach, and train his replacement.

Pronman's recent rankings (just posting this over, don't shoot the messenger)

Compared to last year’s class, Guenther wouldn’t be in a group with Alexis Lafrenière and Tim Stützle — as I’ve mentioned already it would be rather close for me today to pick between those two for the top spot — but it would be an open debate for me between Guenther and Quinton Byfield as the third-best prospect among those four players.

Tier 1: Bubble of NHL All-Star and top of lineup player

1. Dylan Guenther, RW, Edmonton-WHL

April 10, 2003 | 6-foot-2 | 175 pounds

Games: 6 | Goals: 8 | Points: 15

Previous ranking: 4

Guenther has come out of the gates firing as a leading player on a top CHL team. He’s also grown a bit since we last saw him, shooting up about two inches. He is a forward with a ton of NHL attributes and no real flaw in his game other than he doesn’t play center. He has tremendous skill, while able to make skilled plays through defenders and to teammates at an NHL pace. He can run a power play with his playmaking, while also having the shot to score from a distance. He has a lot of talent, but also works off the puck, forcing turnovers and playing in traffic. He has the best chance of anyone in this draft to become an NHL star.

Tier 2: Top-line forward, top-pair defenseman or good starting goaltender

2. Luke Hughes, LHD, U.S. NTDP-USHL
3. Owen Power, LHD, Michigan-Big Ten
4. Matthew Beniers, C, Michigan-Big Ten
5. Kent Johnson, C, Michigan-Big Ten
6. Chaz Lucius, C, U.S. NTDP-USHL

Tier 3: Bubble of top-line or pairing and second-line or pairing

7. William Eklund, LW, Djurgarden-SHL
8. Brandt Clarke, RHD, Nove Zamky-Slovakia
9. Nikita Chibrikov, RW, SKA-KHL
10. Jesper Wallstedt, G, Lulea-SHL

In years past, Pronman has often been way off on his rankings vs draft position. But the idea of either Clarke or Eklund falling to us is pleasing. They would both be a best case scenario at #9
