Well, I was hoping we wouldn't hear any more about it, but it wasn't me who started the Campbell/Ander5en comments. So I guess some butthurt Andersen wives aren't letting this go.
Sounds like some people just can't (frank)ing wait for Campbell to fail because they were forced to admit that Ander5en was poop and they were wrong.
Trust me, if Campbell lets in a softie or two every game for a (frank)ing year and throws away a one-goal deciding game, I will be the first one to criticize him. - Aetherial
This is bullpoop. There was never a Campbell vs. Andersen disagreement. There was a view that the criticism of Andersen was over the top. Wanting Campbell to succeed dies t change that. There are only a few weird fans who seem to prefer winning their arguments over team success. |

Team success will be losing Andersen, therefore winning their argument. |

I never thought that would be the stance anyone would take, not me at least 🤷♂️
The Leafs defensively are (still) far too Jekyll & Hyde for me and have been all year, they need to tighten that up and it might require adding someone. Do you feel that the Leafs are defensively as good as the other league leaders? - Cush29
Lately, I am noting a few things.
1) The Leafs put MUCH less physical pressure on other teams on the forecheck. They have near 0 physical element at all.
2) Other team's defensemen and forwards are making as many bonehead plays and giveaways as the Leafs. We just concentrate more on the Leafs and notice every mistake they make.
I don't see enough outside the North, but the Leafs D is as good as anyone in the North. In fact, it is better than all of them. The only reason the Leafs are not running away with the North is they have been out-goaltended, at the same time the shooters have mostly all gone cold and the PP has been abysmal.
My biggest concerns about the playoffs are 1) goaltending, 2) The mental toughness required to overcome adversity. |

No, we never got into that debate, but there are a few who can't wait to jump on Campbell now... like it is payback or something.

I don’t see it but I’m a goalie dad. I still look at goals like the guy who sat through all those lessons. |

We see things very differently but m’eh your still ok. Just ok.
Yes that was a Reimer “just Ok” joke.
The PP has gone from over achieving to terrible and that’s sure hurt them a lot.
I’d say the Leaf Goaltending has been average, feels like they have had some goalies they have played against saves their best games of their season for the Leafs. Look at Big Save Dave, Hellebuck and Smith!

I choose to believe Spezza and Thornton are going to help with that mental toughness. Just drive home how rare a cup truly is.

It sure seems like the Leafs have faced suddenly-heroic goaltending from every goalie, even Ottawa. I am just reluctant to say that because it seems like absolving the entire team
One thing the Leafs are going to have to try to figure out is how to breakdown teams that collapse everyone around the net. Right now, this is the way to stop them. Columbus showed everyone how. I would like to see more shots and look for greasy goals. They seem to be unable to get away from always wanting to score on a perfect play.

1000% agree, they are way too cute sometimes and In playoffs greasy goals make so much of a difference.

I think Thornton is done, and will be surprised to see him in the lineup in the playoffs. The game was just too fast for him last night. |

Those last two against Brossoit were brutal. If I said they were Andersen-esque a few would be butt-hurt. But they certainly fall into the category of sh!tting the bed.

To be fair to the leafs, the media guys like Ferraro have commented on how amazing the goalies have been in the games. It isn't just fans seeing it and the leafs are dominating in shots quite often.

I think they like him for the morale of the guys but he can't play top line. I like him and Spezza on the 4th.

Get a winger for Matthews-Marner and a 3rd LD. - Steven_Seagull
Or if they aim a bit lower, find a quality bottom 6 winger to take Hyman's place, and move him up with Matthews. |
