It’s a shame to see where they are at after the hot start. 3 backs back of the last spot and Boston has 3 games in hand. Rough season. I didn’t expect them to be much better than last season but I didn’t expect them to take this many steps backwards.

The overreaction is stating that Myers has a low hockey IQ. What makes Morin more capable. His extensive experience killing penalties at the NHL level? The numerous NHL games he has played this season. Please don't tell me it's about his physical size. That alone does not make a defenseman a good Pker.

based on the coaches comments there is some validity to his statement

Question for you. If Morin continues his play do you keep him in or does Haag take his place when healthy. Play may determine I just know your not a Haag guy.

Wait......,so poor awareness has nothing to do with hockey I. Q.?

My bad. I chalk it up a lot to awareness and anticipation.

- Peter Richards

The entire team has shown a lack of awareness and attention to detail this season. So you're going to tell me the entire team has a low hockey IQ?

That's completely incorrect. Many team would make a decent offer and take a chance on a player like Patrick. As an RFA, he again has zero leverage in contract negotiations.
- MJL

Awesome! Take it, whatever the offer is...

Zibanejed pissing on these bums like it's his job.

It is his job, and he's good at it. Of course they make it easy for him by sucking so much...

If we were looking at Patrick as a 4th line center than his game away from the puck and on the forecheck would be fine. At some point he has to produce some offense to be a viable player.
- MJL

A 4th line center needs to give and take hits, so Patty is out...

I'm not a big fan of fronting either. It has it's pluses and minuses like everything else. I just think it gives the opposition position on rebounds.
If you watch the goal scored by the Rangers PP, there is a mix up with the tandem high forwards on the play. Both Hayes and Laughton head out to the point to cover Fox. Zbanejad was hiding out in the corner. This mix up leaves the high slot uncovered. This leaves Myers between two attackers and the player in front of him in the slot draws his attention. Zbanajad sneaks in back door. I'm not sure it would've mattered because Myers lost awareness but his was not the only mistake. Elliott also could've disrupted the pass.

- MJL

One other mistake right before that play was Sanheim leaving his feet. One of my pet peeves is defenseman should never leave their feet. Sanheim was scrambling from that point on to get back into position, and I think this might have caused a distraction to Myers also. My son actually pointed out to me that it would have been nice for Elliott to use his stick to stop the cross pass, however I think Elliott was playing the shot and focusing more on hugging the post.

I think Morin should be playing as long as he keeps playing like this. He can only improve at this point assuming he can stay healthy.

Nope, that is not the definition of poor hockey IQ. Myers shows a good hockey IQ in many areas of the ice. Stating that he has poor hockey IQ is exactly what it was labeled yesterday. An overreaction.
- MJL

I think you really want the Flyers younger players to work out and I appreciate that, however I don't think you are being objective in this case.

I disagree on that. Sanhiem made a good play there and prevented the pass. He wasn't scrambling. He played it fine in that sequence.

Sure I'm being objective. I recognize the situation and what is happening. You're repeatedly calling for players to be scratched, saying they suck, on the fence. They won't get better and on and on. You're telling me I'm not being objective?

Again, there is nothing wrong or bad about saying you are "on the fence" about a player. All that means is you want to see more before you determine what they are. I have never said one bad thing about Farabee, in fact you only see positive posts from me on his behalf. And at times this year, this team has SUCKED, who would argue this point besides you?

Yes, you surely are not being objective! Lindblom benefitted from sitting out a game. Ghost benefitted from being scratched 3 games. It is good for players to take a step back from time to time and watch the game, learn from it and reset themselves. I think Myers needs such a break, more than 1 game, and I think he will benefit from it also. Its a shame you don't want to admit I know what I am talking about, pride always go-ith before the fall!

Look, bottom line, you are so far up Hextall's butt that you can't see that his drafting was overrated and he missed on several good opportunities, including drafting Patrick. I have no such bias. To me a "good player" plays good consistently. We have seen enough of Myers this year to see what he is, and its not pretty. We will see in the offseason what the Flyers ultimately think of their younger players when Fletcher decides to trade some of them to get better players. The one good take-away from Fletcher's recent press conference is that he knows the make-up of this team is off and he needs to fix it.

I'm sure of it, you never played hockey in your life. I hope you don't ever coach kids on how to play the game. Sanhiem was absolutely scrambling on that play because he took himself out of position by sliding face down on the ice. Its called not trusting your teammates and trying to over play the puck!

Yes there absolutely is something wrong about saying that. When it's wrong and it clearly was wrong. Farabee's skills were plainly evident that he is going to be a really good player for the Flyers. Sure you said something bad about Farabee. "All the Flyers young players are what they are!"
Who would argue this point that they suck? Do you not recall the numerous times I posted that this team defensively is a fundamental mess? LOL. Need to get your facts straight.

You have to look at each player individually. Your go to response when any player has a bad game or a series of bad games is to sit them out. Sometimes the better things to do is let the player play through it. There is no individual thinking on your part here. It's just sit him out. Such a uniform response does come from someone who knows what he is talking about. It comes from someone with no feel for the game. Every player is different.

Every GM Misses on picks. Patrick was unanimously a 1-2 pick in that draft. There is no one who can logically or rationally criticize Hextall for taking Patrick. Anyone who does is talking out their ass.
Again here we are, a young player is what he is! After 95 games in the NHL, he is what he is. Still haven't learned from that. No competent hockey analyst would make that statement. It's beyond clueless and is disqualifying.

Going down like that is not always a good play but in this case it was. Sanheim was immediately up and back in position and played his responsibilities well after that point. Again and no objectivity. Just a random opinion of a pet peeve with no individual thinking. Your comment that I never played hockey is not only irrelevant but invalid.
