He is not a rookie anymore. That PK where the Rangers scored, look at Myers' position and stick placement, this is the opposite of what defenseman is taught. He should have had his stick pointing into the slot and he should have moved down lower, instead he just sat there and puck watched. This tells me he does not have a high hockey IQ.

Myers has played 95 NHL games. He has yet to play a full 82 game NHL season. Yes, he is still basically a rookie in experience level. Myers was puck watching. He made a mistake. Nothing to do with hockey IQ. You can't ignore the times he makes strong reads on plays. He'll learn and he'll get better. He is going to be a horse for the Flyers on the backend for a lot of years.

They really do struggle to find any amount of high quality scoring chances. Every goal recently it seems they claw and scratch for.
- Pelle31Forever

I think the were out-shooting the Rangers at one point 18-6 (so 3 to 1) and the Rangers had a 1-0 lead, and 4 out of the 6 Ranger shots were High Danger Chances. The Flyers are getting shots, but not many are high danger chances, they have to scratch and claw for everything they get; this is exhausting and not sustainable. I like the way TK is playing lately, agitating and shooting more, but Farabee has taken a back seat now because he is playing with Hayes and there is no chemistry there.

I love how sure of things you are. In my experience almost nothing ever turns out the way I expect it to. Ha ha

I wish I had your confidence and I hope you are right. Right now its very depressing to watch him play.

Every team in the league has to play tough defense and be hard on the puck. The Flyers have more offensive skill then that. They showed that earlier in the season. They're not a grind it out type of team. There will always be close games. They need to get the PP going. The Ranger play pretty much the same PP set up. One team moves the puck around confidently and quickly. The other team doesn't. Get the PP going and the Flyers can be a pretty good offensive team.
- MJL

I agree that if the Flyers get the PP going they will be a good offensive team. Unfortunately, I don't think the PP will get better with the players they have currently on the PP. This team has been at or below the league average for a good number of years now with the same crew out there. I don't hold my breath that somehow something will click and the goals with start going in, especially against good teams and especially as we get down to crunch time in the season.

It's very frustrating to see the same mistakes made over and over. It's not just with Myers, it with the entire team for the most part.

The improvement on team defense will bring us wins, the wins will bring back their confidence and the confidence will bring on the skills. Those skills will bring us more goals which bring us more wins....the true positive climb.

That's basically how it does work. All kidding aside. You can see how confident some players on the Rangers are offensively.

The expression on o is squeezing your stick and it’s true. You have to relax and the goals will come.

I stated facts, describing exactly what happened on that Ranger PP goal. How is that an overreaction?? Myers puck watched instead of doing what a Defenseman on the PK is supposed to do there. AND I still wonder why Myers (who is obviously struggling to find his game) is out on the PK when Morin is healthy and much more capable. This is a fair second guess!

The overreaction is stating that Myers has a low hockey IQ. What makes Morin more capable. His extensive experience killing penalties at the NHL level? The numerous NHL games he has played this season. Please don't tell me it's about his physical size. That alone does not make a defenseman a good Pker.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this group go on a run after this game, because why not. That’s been the MO of this team the last decade...big lows and highs.

Oh, I still believe in the young D. I just dont have the ability to see into the future and can’t guarantee their future success. It’s a weird season and the Flyers really are missing veteran presence on D. The poor goaltending and poor team-wide defensive play makes their mistakes that much more noticeable and costly. On the other hand I’m too old and have seen too much losing to fall in love with any players anymore. They are all replaceable.

Jesus, missed the game and just watched the highlights. Was that Shesterkin in net or young Henrik Lundqvist? And was that Adam Fox or Mike Richter?? Loool.

On the goal against... I would like to see the Flyers goalies stop a cross-crease pass for once this season.

Or Sanheim, stopping the pass would have been as effective defense as covering shooter.

Don’t care at this point who it is. But make the adjustment as that back door play has worked every time it seems. Myers has been the culprit a bunch but hasn’t been the only one.
