Forwards - even rookies - should know where to be when the defensemen get the puck around the goal line. Too much flying out before a clear is made - too many required passes into the neutral zone, mostly turned over.

Coached should be able to concentrate in practices, film sessions, on the bench on improving this.

Unless (a) I am wrong (certainly possible), or (2) that is the plan....

At Rockford: Wolves beating Icehogs badly, 6-2. Outshot double. Wolves one of the best AHL teams some good prospects. But what do you expect when you rotate three dmen in and out of lineup. There is a firedrill or just bad defense. I hear some forwards backcheck and are skating and hitting everyone. But it sure sounds like open gym where nobody is playing defense - save a few forwards - it is just get the puck and off to the races. I am sure Theo can expound. Franson first pair for veteran smarts & experience but is very slow.
