It's happened: Mitchell reassinged to Rockford.

Speculation that Bowey is playing tonight. I’m not against it. Mitchell has stagnated a bit. Get him more minutes and in more situations.

According to analysts, the move makes sense given that the Hogs and Wolves play back-to-back this weekend. So if the youngsters going to the Hogs are presumably scratched for tonight, then they can play a game rather than sit.

Also, expect one or some to be recalled back to the Hawks for Sunday's game or just wait until both weekend games are over.

Bottom line, I would expect today's wholesale transaction between the Hawks and Hogs to reverse by Monday since the Hogs don't play again until next weekend.

Could be 1) playing time increase TOI; 2) work on certain things is better accomprised with more playing time than in Chicago and less pressure; 3) should have played AHL for a while and concentrated on certain things before he ever saw NHL

This send down also reeks of getting Bowey in and why not have Mitchell get in a couple games or more AHL instead of press box or taxi squad

Some players are so good that they play right away and their weak spots are either overlooked or they improve just enough in weak areas to get by.

I believe McAvoy, Maker, Heskenan joined NHL right away. They represent the excetion to the standard needing AHL experience.

Definitely for the ice time IMO. Mitchell lately plays the least of the 6 defenseman. Isn’t playing PK and PP, and doesn’t match up against the opponents top line, why Murphy is playing 22 plus minutes a game. Give him 2 games this weekend play a lot, and let him feel good about himself.

Commesso was sharp early in first period, saves 14/14, killed off a 5 minute PP. Not much traffic in front of him.

Vlasic playing a lot, also on PK1, not on PP.

Wise is at LW, on PP2.

BU faded and lost 6-2 but Wise got a PP goal. Looks like all 3 players will be back in college next year. Wonder if Wise might sign an AHL deal just to get started in the pros.

Per Mark Lazetus tweet.

Kevin Lankinen starts tonight. As for the lineup, Jeremy Colliton says "I still need to have a couple conversations"

Wise a reknown goal scorer as youth but circumstances- including injuries- derailed him as a collegiate. Is he a top end skill type? Skating good? I would seriously like to see how his game develops as a pro. I can't get the thought to go away......he skates with Kane preseason and gets a hat trick. Ear s one .ore game, and he scores again

IMO, if the Hawks give Wise a chance, it may start first as an AHL deal then let him prove he can stay healthy and see what he has to offer.

If he can stay healthy and hit potential, I see another Kurashev type of forward: can play wing or center, skates well, offensively gifted, defensively aware, stronger than he looks.

Wise should play out his NCAA career and do what he can to turn in a strong senior year in order to amp up his stock.

All I got from this is more Carpenter. Which always leaves me wondering...why? He really is not good at anything. Wait, that's not fair. he is a champ at hitting sticks and legs.

Who else starts twitching when the line of Strome, Carpenter and Janmark is on the ice? Best defensive job Carpenter/Strome have done all season. They have shut down janmark.

I was excited when the HAWKS drafted Wise my nephew who really follows the Jr. players said he was a steal and was a real decent player . I hope they sign him injury happen should not define his career .

All 3 needs to stay at BU. That is the best course for them Commesso to play a lot. Vlasic to grow into his body. Wise just to stay healthy for a season.

He would be better served staying in college and finishing his career. Get his diploma and just put together a full season.

Agree Elbows. No reason to rush these kids. Hawks are close to the 50 contract limit anyway even though several slots will open up during the season. IMO a good idea to delay starting some ELCs to stagger their expiration dates.

Honestly think its best for all of their developments. The contract limit is a bit deceiving. They are at 30 for next season. Obvs, some spot will be taken by re-signing some of their RFAs but they should be fine. Key RFAs wll be Suter, Hagel, Kampf and to a lessor degrees Zadorov. The rest will be replaced by guys in the system already and I suspect they will find some Euro/NCAA FAs to add to the mix.

Nylander and Carlsson will probably be signed if one isn't taken in the expansion draft.

I think he will be player in time good skater with great hands and strong commitment to deference sounds like a keeper to me and battling injuries will build character all in good time .

But Carp is a face puncher now ... he's okay for the pk.

Yeah, that line confuses me, but I'm iffy with Janmark, best of the 3 is no compliment. He tries to make flashy plays often & gets himself hemmed into taking poopty angle shots. Strome needs to learn to park his ass in the blue & be effective that way.
