With Van's early 2nd round pick

- manvanfan

I like the early look but not a fan of picking a goalie til the 3rd or later.

With Van's 4th round pick who's unlikely to be there

- manvanfan

4th round & on are good depth picks to take flyers on. C & D are always my preference.

Is Eric Staal worth more or less than Tanner Pearson?

100% not the player they should be focusing on trading but I'm not surprised by this
- Codes1087

Fully agree. Would like to see him back here for another year, truthfully. But, ain't gonna cry if he's gone.

Trade importance for me:
1. Pearson
2. Sutter
3. Benn
4. Rous/Beag/Baer (lol wishful)
5. JV
6. Gaudette

Gio to the Kets for a 2nd
- K-man25

Sutter and Pearson to Flames for the PO push.

Bennett and a pick coming back.

Suck it K-man.

Elliotte on possible Canucks trades: There has been some action around Gaudette. I think they are trying to work on something there

----------------
I would expect at least a 3rd round pick for him.

- manvanfan

2nd.

With SJ and CGY losing last night, the Canucks have moved back up the points percentage standings into 24th.

This is very exciting. Love this time of the season where the Canucks make a valiant push for mediocrity.

'if' they are shopping Gaudette then JV should be part of any package.

Bennett and Debrusk would help this roster huge next season.

Maybe not the player they should be looking to deal but I think it's the type of player that other teams want more.

Moving Pearson or Sutter would be tough. Gaudette for sure would have interest and I think JV too on some smaller level. There are probably 5-6 clubs out there that would try on JV for a fresh start.

Gaudette is a trade chip at this point to me. It might be another 2-4 years before he becomes consistent.

Might have to retain half on both PEArson and Sutter to maximize value.

Looking what JV did last season compared to how this season has gone. He is on pace for his worst ever season by far.

Other teams have to see how bad and use that but see much more potential in him.

I don't think either of these players would help the team at all. They are players Van already has but at 1/4 of the price.

Truculence.

Getting younger and tougher is a bit of a priority too.

True, maybe they wouldn't score more than JV or gaudette but they aint pussies either.

(630 CHED)

Josh Haggstrom

I think that the issue is that he’s going to be pushed out by the likes of Kole Lind, Carson Focht and the many others who look like they can be more productive at playing the Center position for them

--------------------
I still can't see Lind playing centre in the NHL but I think this guy is right that Gaudette's spot by next season on the wing is in jeopardy and it looks as if the Canucks aren't too interested with him as a centre anymore.

2 years lines up with their window. If they trade him for a pick, that player will probably take 4 years to make the same sort of impact, if they do at all.

Like you mention in your other post, there are players that can come in and replace Gaud. I just think with them finding his stomach issues, a full offseason of training and weight gain might make him a better player next year.

Really sad that Adam Fox and Anthony Cirelli are the only two players that really have an impact on their teams since being draft from 2015 onward.

2014 - Warren Foegle, Brayden Point, Mike Amadio have played over 100 games.
2013 - 9 players have played over 100 NHL games.

I would like a 3rd for Gaudette but honestly, he's probably worth a early 2nd in most drafts. He is 35th in games played and 35th in points in his draft. Will probably pass quite a few players if he could get going.

Dante Fabbro has been mentioned as possibly being available, Nashville apparently likes Gaudette?

I was thinking we could get Seth Jones as a return for him.😁
