You forgot Ryan Spooner's $300k that comes off the books

Edit: This new idea that we're in a cap crunch next year is kind of silly. They'll have ~$31M to sign Buch, Lindgren, Shesty and Chytil. Realistically, only Buch and maybe Lindgren will receive larger raises than expected. They're perfectly fine from a cap perspective, next year.

Don't forgot most of Tony's money comes off the books too after this season when he is bought out

The biggest thing is not this offseason but next offseason. Can't blow all our load this offseason. Zib, Buch, and Strome will all be UFAs.

Since Hank's and Shatty's #s drop big time after this season, that is helpful

- rrentz

Oh yeah, big time. It's essentially a $9M player. Not saying they will really add one, but that's how big it is.

W/ ADA's contract, Hank's $$ dropping, and Shatty #s dropping, NYR is in excellent shape this offseason

Zib will definitely get a raise, but I would be surprised if it's north of $8M. (~$2.5M).That puts him in the Logan Couture and ROR ballpark, just below Stamkos, Aho and Draisaitl

Strome will get a raise, nothing north of $7M, if he's still here. (~$2.5M)

Buch should come in around $6, depending on the term. (call it a $3M raise).

Fox is the big one. I think he'll get locked up long term. Maybe around $6.5M.

Even with those four key/big signings, that's only $14.5M. Still have around $16.5M to fill in the gaps and make a splash.

This is looking more in the right direction.
It's not about the fact that we're good for next year. It's that in the next 3 years half our team is coming off of ELC's. Money will be needed, so making moves just because we have the room for one or two years will put us right back into trouble.

Doesn't this free agent class suck?

I feel like Taylor Hall is the best one again

there are other ways to use cap space, especially when there are some teams who can't protect everyone in expansion draft

From your keyboard to Gorton's monitor. No stupid FA signings this year.

But let's not act like every single one of those ELCs is going to jump significantly. That buffer of $16M is more than enough to extend players on bridge deals well into the future.

they are still gonna have the bonus thing next year too, and it remains to be seen what kind of contract they give Lundkvist

the Rangers will figure out ways to spend the money, no need to worry about that one

So after this season NYR will have much more available $$, and no more dead cap space after next season....so thats good. Hopefully no more buyouts for a while. NO to buying out Trouba for God's sake
- rrentz

You have to add in almost $400k if the team has to buy out Tony D'Angelo. But cap space for next season ONLY is not a problem.

I think we've been looking to obtain the wrong center in Buffalo. Instead of Eichel, we should go after Cozens. Won't be cheap.

You guys think: Chytil, Lundqvist and a 1st round pick get it done?

I think it is also fair to say that not everyone will remain on the Rangers. It is quite possible trades may start to occur.

Don't see them trading Lindqvist until he plays for the Rangers

This is his 3rd disappointing season in a row, they are giving up on him. Their defense is sooo bad , can you blame them?

He was such a promising player a few years ago.
