No way in hell NYR is trading him before he plays in the NHL. Lundkvist, Miller, Fox, Jones are not guys you trade. They can be top 4 dmen for the next 10+ years.

Are the Rangers going to be able to pay them all?

Fox will get a lower priced long term deal (6 mill range). If NYR is smart they will take a chance on a long term deal at a lower cap hit, rather then giving him a bridge deal, and getiing crushed if he continues to play excellent., but Miller, Lundkvist, and Jones wont have to get paid for years.

Nashville is the only team I can compare to what NYR seems to be building on Defense. Luckily, we also have a ton of talent up front, where Nashville always seemed a bit light. Gorton will need a very delicate touch in the next year or so to keep the youngsters up front and on the back end.

Yeah well they can (frank) off.

Typical Rangers fan trade:

NYR: Reunanen + Chytil (a potentially serviceable dman and a forward were done with)
LAK: Kupari (blue chip prospect)

Kings counter:

NYR: Lundqvist (blue chip prospect)
LAK: Kupari (blue chip prospect)

Rangers fans go bonkers and flip their crap about the trade and how its impossible we do that.

Only problem I see would be Fox's agent telling him to wait it out for the big payday. Fox is playing on the team he roots for, so might take the long term lower billet for stability.

After next year, he will be up for contract in 2022-2023. Can see NYR offering 8years 6.5 million?

I could see Fox getting a bridge contract to keep all the numbers down for a few extra years.

If Fox accepts that deal, Rangers have to take it and run, RUN! Thats a steal and will save them a ton of money on the back end.

Fox seems like a perfect player to byass the bridge deal..He's not Mckinnon, I know, but look how much Colorado saved. Giving Fox a long term contract now at a lower AAV will save them a ton over next 8 years. 2 year bridge deal is better for 2 years, but then his contract will be massive! With other contracts due in a few years, might as well have Fox's contract set, and work around it, rather then the unknown if he gets a bridge deal..no?

. Even 7-7.5. Can see him asking for 8+ after a bridge deal, if he continues like this. IMO he is most important player for NYR future. Plays more min. then anyone else on the team. Just hope fans come back to full capacity soon, b/c if not, NYR will get screwed more then any other team if Cap stays flat for the next few years.

I didnt say he should, but that its the likely scenario. However a long term deal would be a huge break for the Rangers. It could be the difference between getting another top flight center or not. He would be saving them probably about 2m per year AAV by signing long term.

problem is that he should replace Blackwell in the lineup when he gets in and how do you take Blackwell out when he's the only one who showed up until last 10 minutes

I think they should just take out pizza boy. Can play Blackwell and Gauthier on the 4th line wings. Or hell even take out Gauthier for a few games.

Pizza boy brings nothing to the table anymore. I view him as a fast Lemieux that isn't tough.

I agree, put Blackwell and Gaut on the fourth. Or even move Chytil to the fourth line wing and let Blackwell play 3c for a game.

I am getting tired of Chytill. His game has really regressed recently. He really doesn't do much out there other than trying to skate around 3 players and losing the puck.
