why did Dale Hunter leave Kitchener and go to Sudbury when he was in juniors, any idea? a trade I guess?

Took some digging, but I finally found this:
Hunter lasted just one year with the Rangers. After finishing Grade 12 at Grand River Collegiate, he was shipped north to Sudbury with goalie Ray Pilon in a deal for keeper Jim Sidwell and blue-liner Al Luciw. The Rangers would rue the trade after Hunter scored 110 points for the Wolves the next season.
