I know they said they only want to add, but I could see McCann going the other way in a trade.

You know I’ve been thinking that if Zucker indeed is expected back and close enough to healthy that he’s not a total bum for the rest of the season and Sullivan wizens up and realizes Blueger is a 3C, there’s no real spot on the roster for McCann if we’re trying to find a legit top 6 winger for Malkin. He can’t play RW so 3RW is out. Kapanen and Malkin are joined at the hip now so McCann 2LW with an acquired 2RW isn’t super preferable. I definitely would be seeing what can be had for McCann+. He’s been playing pretty good hockey this year when on functional lines.

NMC - can’t trade or waive a player without their approval

NTC - can’t trade a player without their approval

M-NTC - can’t trade a player without their approval unless trading them to a team already on their approved list based on the NTC stipulations

So basically exactly what I said lol

It could be:
Jake-Sid-Rust
TRADE-Geno-Kap
Zucker-McCann-Tanev
ZAR-Blueger-Gaudreau

I dunno, I think it's dumb that McCann can't play the RW. It ain't that hard. Then you could keep ZAR and Tanev on the 4th with say Gaudreau or maybe Glendenig.

Pettersson and 2 SPC throw ins for Ryan, Glendening, and Merrill

Sure you’re giving up Petts for rentals but you keep all other futures and it frees up his cap for the summer.

Jake - Sid - Rust
McCann - Geno - Kap
Zucker - Blueger - Ryan
ZAR - Glendening - Tanev

Dumo - Letang
Merrill - Marino
MM - Ceci

I don’t know man I’ve seen too many players, forward and d, play below their standard on their off side to continue to believe that it can be done if the coach would just try it. Iginla’s failure in Pitt was overblown but he definitely didn’t play as well as he could have on the left wing. Daily was so bad on the left side that they had to move Kris (frank)ing Letang to his off side to accommodate Daily for a bit in the 2016 playoffs while we were fighting injuries. Rust didn’t start to break through until they stopped trying to force him on the left side.

It’s weird to me too, but there’s something here.

Iginla was from a different era, IMO. Dude was 35 when we acquired him and had played 15 years at RW.

McCann being only 24, SHOULD be able to adapt IMO, If he can play LW and C, I don't see how he can't play RW. These kids nowadays can play everywhere or at least should be able to.

With the amount of guys we have that can play LD and the strong possibility of another flat cap season, this is a good move. Nets us legit NHL bottom 6 depth. I just wonder if they move Pettersson considering how much they like him as a partner to Marino.

I think that when you’re talking about NHL caliber prospects destined to be one of the 372 best forwards in the world when they reach their primes playing lower levels of competition that holds true, but I think once you reach NHL competition playing the best of the best, the little things that change about how you handle passes and shots with your stick facing the other way on the ice can really show up.

Kind of scary to think that future Pens teams will be built more like the Bruins and Flyers than traditional Penguins teams.

I was reading Burkes comments yesterday, I wonder if we are getting in on a 3 team trade. With us getting a center, another team getting one of our D men, and another getting picks/peospects...

Honestly when I looked at our division at the start of the year I figured there'd be a lot of injuries but it's getting pretty ridiculous.

We can't even blame Tom Wilson.

Most injuries are freak/random occurrences anyways. Regardless of how "prepared" your body is for the season, if you take a shot off the inside of the knee where there is no padding, or your knee gets hyperextended... no amount of off-season is going to prepare you for that.

1, yes we can. It’s all Wilson’s fault.

B. There are a lot of freak accidents but Pitt needs to look at revamping or adding to their physical wellness staff. What is the difference between healthy teams and Pitt. I doubt style of play because that’s still susceptible to opponents style of play and can’t really be controlled.

Idk. (frank) em

Towards the beginning of the season we lost all the defense, now we're losing all the forwards. What in the (frank) is going on lol
