I love it when people make these short, conclusive statements with no explanation. Why do you feel this is the case? Have you watched him play? Do you not agree he is having a good year at BC?

Before anyone posts about Chuck not doing anything to fix the roster and he is a scrub GM please post what great trades were available that he turned down.
The fact is we don’t know. Maybe he had the chance to pull the trigger but felt the deal wasn’t right at the time where as now he would have done the deal.
For the record I’m not sold on Chuck having the cajones to do a deal like the Montreal Philly trade where we got Leclair and Desjardin.
Maybe it’s much more unlikely with the cap situation.
We also don’t have Big E in the lineup as a cornerstone.
Jake, JVR available but tough sells with contracts.
TK we are listening.
Laughton trade deadline rental trade.
NAK,Raffl,Bunnamen, all available.
Farabee- better be ready to part with a top ten 1st round pick or no thanks.
Lindblom- The kind of player that teams need for playoff success.

Patrick- TBD not sure you can get much value so keeping him in house. Really need prospect development to work with him.

Sanheim/Meyers- one of them is a available but not giving away by any stretch.
Provy- We will listen but would have to be a very generous offer. The lack of a stable legitimate partner I don’t think has helped.
Looks like he is trying to do to much and accomplishing little.
Ghost- available but I would think he has been. Might not have much value.
A team might take a chance for a playoff run.
Gus- see ya thanks for your service.
Braun- available but in the not much value range.
Elliot- available
Hart- we aren’t ready to make a decision yet he’s not on the block.

Giroux- needs to take a step back as more of a secondary role on the team now. If he doesn’t like it he can waive his NMC.
Hayes- get your head out of your butt or sit in the press box.
Couturier- not trading

If I was GM this is where my thinking is. That doesn’t mean any of this would get accomplished. Chuck has to be smart and shrewd.

Have we tried to pair Provorov / Sanheim together? sanheim plays right side. We need a solid defensive pairings and this current defensive setup is a trainwreck.

At this point i would bring Wyatte wylie up for a game and give him a try, cant be any worst than having ghost and gus both on D.

How is our young dmen supposed to gain any confidence when playing with sub par defenders and forwards who dont back check and hang the goalie out?

Answer is simple , hold players accountable for there actions. Watching last night game i wouldve sat about 4 players in the third period. Send the frickin message and start playing rookies over vets who dont play the right way.

Carsen twar(sp) hits every shift hes out there yes he needs to learn but i would play him every game from here on out. WE NEED PLAYERS WHO CHECK SOFT TEAMS(IE TORONTO)DONT WIN CUPS!!!!

He has played two seasons at Yale , over 60 games which I have watched plenty of. You have no idea what you are talking about. Don’t try to get all high and mighty because you watched a couple BC games . I even had a convo with bill on here and he alluded to him not being an nhl defenseman
- ClaudeFather

While I don't discount what you observed at Yale, you seem to have an opinion that says it is impossible for anyone to improve. Maybe the coaching was not a good fit at Yale, maybe the system...but I give ZERO credence to how he performed in his 1st two years in college to where his ceiling is as a potential pro. Lots of kids are late bloomers with good coaching and finding the real motivation to learn the game and how to play it right. If it was so cut and dry the draft should be a lock for teams every year...but alias, no one can predict the future.

I guess Hayes decided he only wanted to play for one year on that new contract. This is the softest team in the entire NHL. They have lost 3 of their top 5 hitters from last year(Pitlick,Niskanen and Thompson) and with Hagg out that means 4 of their top 5 hitters from last year are missing. And the team last year was among the softer teams in the NHL. Soft and slow means no go in today's NHL. THANKS!

I am generally optimistic. However, I do not see this team playing well enough consistently to make the playoffs. My new goals for this season.

-Get Hart's game corrected. Most important player on this team, The Flyers go where he takes them.
-Work with Myers and Sanheim to correct there issues. Have them take nights off if needed. Don't care how they do it just get it done.
-Get NoPa through the season healthy.
-Move pending UFA's if they have value and are not part of the future of this team.
-Make trades that make sense longterm. I do not want a rental at this point.
-Finally, challenge the veterans. If they do not respond with consistent play within the system then a decision will need to be made.

Trading Laughton would be a mistake unless you were blown away by an offer. Previous deals for Raffl that were offered were around the 5th round. More value in keeping him.
- MJL

What value is there in keeping Raffle? Please elaborate. Was higher than 5th also it was rumored.

What would be considered a blown away offer?

Keep the same cast of characters. Seems to be working out fine.

Again, unless offered a deal that they can't turn down, that would be another mistake. The current team environment is about the worst team situation for a young defenseman to be in and really not a good situation to evaluate a young player. Hopefully Fletcher is smart enough not to overreact.
- MJL

Why is that? Tells you more about them in this situation. How can one overreact when the defense is piss poor and has been for a long while now.

Lol this has happened every year for how long now? I seriously don’t understand how everyone isn’t ready to move on at this point.

Am I the only one who can't understand why some people are unable to spell players names correctly? I mean if you follow a team for even a short period of time you would kind of accidently learn their names...right?

Haha right, how old are these guys now. There’s nothing left to do. This locker room is in shambles , can’t bring back the same group next year. Maybe don’t give a guy like Hayes who takes nothing serious $50M

I imagine he'd fetch a top-90 pick or a B-prospect at least. Dunno whether or not to move on from him, tho.

On one hand, the Flyers can't really afford to pay him much more than the $2.3M he's making now with a flat cap, and they have plenty of kids that will need minutes sooner than later.

On the other, if they ever do become competitive, Laughton is the kind of supporting character that winning teams rely on.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Flyers didn't skate well and didn't have their legs last night.
- MJL

This is an all too common theme with this team this year. It's more the exception than the rule when the Flyers have their legs. it's difficult to watch.

At this point I think you have to move on, nothing points to this team being a contender in the next couple years

There is constant debate about leadership revolving around the core EVERY year when they go on disaster streaks. Then it is mentioned that leadership is fine because player X does this and says this and leads by example and blah blah blah....

What I don't understand if all this stuff is done then how is it possible that a full roster can go out and play like they do at times? Obviously the message that is given is forgotten or the others don't have respect for the messenger. There is no other explanation.

All players have bad games or slumps, but why do the Flyers have slumps that consist of the huge majority of the roster at the same time...YEARLY?

Again if the message is "Why are we making these mistakes and we need to focus to correct it" the worst thing to do is go out and do exactly the same thing again over and over.

To be fair though even when they were winning games in the early part of the season they were still playing poorly and got away with these mistakes...so are they really in a slump?

What does "move on" even mean? Coots and Giroux I don't have a problem with. Coots is one of the best defensive centers in the league and scored 30 goals multiple times. Giroux had his most productive years over the last four.

If they traded Voracek I would be ok with that. Who else is a veteran that has been here for a long time? Raffl?

What else are you "moving on" from?

Just rip the band-aid off. It amazes me that the franchise who quickly shipped out Richards and Carter has spent over a decade with core players who’ve never made it out of the 2nd round and are prone to absolute tire fire stretches of hockey every season where their leadership is called into question.
