I think at this point, Fletcher has got be seriously being a seller at the deadline which is true bums me out greatly. Still if true, why not trade Gust, Laughton and Raffl to contenders for picks. These picks might come in handy in the offseason when I hope Fletcher aggressively makes trades, and he can always resign Laughton to a new deal.

Its not just York, "Juiced" reminded me yesterday about Ronnie Attard who had a strong college season, and may be ready for the Flyers before York even. Also, he is not flashy offensively, but John St. Ivany playing at Boston College is having a solid year. I am looking forward to see how he and York do in the NCAA tournament starting 3/26.

All these up and coming prospects. Let me know when they get here. Need to start trading some to you know actually address the NHL roster; assuming they have value as flyers fans never overrate their prospects.

John St Ivany will never play in a flyers uniform
- ClaudeFather

I love it when people make these short, conclusive statements with no explanation. Why do you feel this is the case? Have you watched him play? Do you not agree he is having a good year at BC?

Because I’ve watched him play his entire career at Yale , he played what 12 games for BC?

I would give Laughton 4 years and roughly $14M. Have to give him somewhat of a bump in salary but also consider the flat cap.

You think he accepts on what will likely be his last chance at a long term deal and pay day?

And when they do get here how long until they can actually contribute? Meyers is a detriment to the team at this point

He has played 17 games for BC this year so far, and he has the tournament coming up. Also he was a freshman at Yale in his 1 season there. He has grown quite a bit this year and has improved his play as this season has gone on, playing more minutes in more critical times in the game.

Yes I do because his agent knows the landscape of the NHL and the cap implications. I don't see any teams handing out 6+ year deals to any one in the near future. Laughton is not the type of player you would give 5 or 6 year term to even in normal circumstances.

He has played two seasons at Yale , over 60 games which I have watched plenty of. You have no idea what you are talking about. Don’t try to get all high and mighty because you watched a couple BC games . I even had a convo with bill on here and he alluded to him not being an nhl defenseman

Not every prospect is going to work out. At least the Flyers have given Sanheim and Myers the opportunity this season and now have a better idea of their ceiling and where they are currently. Fletcher may decide to move on from them, he might not, but at least has the data to make the best decision he can.

I will say it again, the coaches comments on Myers are concerning. Maybe he just isn't all that bright.

At some point we need NHL ready guys to play, look at the pile of trash we have back there this year. I’m not saying to trade Sanheim or Meyers but because our D Corp is so bad they are slotted too high and it has become a problem. We need to add help on the backend in the off season, if we are waiting for prospects we might as well just start the rebuild now

You're right, he did play two seasons, I didn't see that when I looked initially. I think he is a steady defenseman and is having a good year at BC, that is all I said. I don't think that is being high and mighty by make this statement, because 1. it was not my intent and 2. the statement is true. He may never play for the Flyers, who knows. My only point to the original post is the Flyers have more defensive prospects than just York.

If you have read any of my posts this season, you will know that I am in complete agreement. I would love the Flyers to add 2 NHL defenseman to this roster so they have 3 experienced players, and 3 younger players. That is where I think Fletcher should focus his off season on the most.

Yea it’s probably just best to wait until the off-season but If someone is available for the right price we need to make a move. I’d also like a few forwards gone in the off-season, we need new blood, the way this team has responded to adversity this year is absolutely pathetic

Well according to some it wouldn't be "smart" to make a move now. Which makes no sense. As you said if there is a deal to be made that helps going forward you make it.

I still feel Laughton is a player they should hang on to. However if he were to be dealt I won't be in an uproar about it.

Yeah this morning sucks and feels like most of the post-game mornings this month. I hate to further rain on everyone's parade but we could be behind the Rags in standings after this weekend.

This may be my rock bottom with this team. I still have time to load up on whiskey ahead of Saturday's tilt.

Swap the devils roster for flyers? Let me guess, you said that after buff beat the Flyers 6-1 earlier in the yr?

Flyers have some prospects of their own coming up..

My take is having that many young d all at the same time simply does not work. One of the top 4 needs to at least be 25. We may need to move a young d now for an established top 4 guy anticipating York will fill the spot down the rd.

- Joe Nardone

I didn’t say or think that after the early-season 6-1 loss to the Sabres because at the time, Flyers weren’t as inconsistent and shaky as they are now.

I agree with your assessment that we can certainly sacrifice one of our young dmen in exchange for a veteran presence.

Trading Laughton would be a mistake unless you were blown away by an offer. Previous deals for Raffl that were offered were around the 5th round. More value in keeping him.

Again, unless offered a deal that they can't turn down, that would be another mistake. The current team environment is about the worst team situation for a young defenseman to be in and really not a good situation to evaluate a young player. Hopefully Fletcher is smart enough not to overreact.

I was going to say that I miss having a 4th line with an identity, but I guess we don't have any lines with one.
