Great point, but I'd argue the glove slap wasn't even the real problem. He drove this stick under Blackwood and pushed him back into the goal... Either way the review ruling was there was no goal because there was goaltender interference... so why isn't there a goaltender interference call?

I'm wondering if they ever give out penalties after a challenge review that wasn't call on the ice. Honestly not sure.

Holy crap, I just read what I wrote and this doesn't answer your question at all....
Sorry. So yeah, I'm just saying what you said. WTF was with that play!!!

I'd complain about that if MB29 hadn't saved that goal by a C-Hair. WOW was that close (or maybe in). It was so close I wouldn't have complained much had it gone against us. Just crazy...

It's just a really confusing play and I don't understand the rules of goalie interference anymore. Back when you couldn't touch the goalie at all and if you were in the blue paint it was always no-goal it was cut and dry. Now, who (frank)ing knows.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s traded and then signs with the Devils or Islanders this summer after the expansion draft. No one is giving Palms an 8th year on this contract and waiting until after the expansion draft is one less player that needs to be protected.

I'm really torn on Palms. On one hand he's not going to age well with the team, but we need some scorers and need to start building to make the playoffs. If we could get a 1st I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of player we could get for a 1st + one or two of our young guys.

Figured this would be the case. Sucks to get rid of him but it has to be done. Should get back atleast a 2nd and a B prospect, maybe more if theres a bidding war. Depending what happens with him afterwards i wouldnt be against bringing him back in the offseason after the expansion draft on a 2 or 3 year deal, nothing longer than that though

I definitely don't blame him for wanting to try to win the Cup. I'm sure he's aware of his age and that he may not get many tries at it staying with the rebuilding Devils.

Really hope we can get a 1st for him. Look at what freaking Coleman returned.

No play-in games this year, correct? Just top 4 from each division? Maybe we'll get lucky and the pick will be in the late teens. Tough year to be drafting though with the short season, but maybe we'll get lucky.

No Play-in games.

So Flyers just waived Shayne Gostisbehere, signed through 22/23 paying $3.25 million with a cap hit of $4.5. Worth a flier?

Should devil's claim ghost if he isn't claimed by a team below us?

Seems a lot of teams this year aren't going to put in claims because they don't want to take on the contracts, but seeing the amount of players we have to expose in the expansion draft why not just pick up a couple of guys for 'free' and then expose them to Seattle. Think the owners just don't want to spend money in this down season.

Meh, he'd be fine. We might need bodies after the deadline if 2 of Kuli, Murray, and Sami are moved so he'd be a fine stopgap, especially if the young D in Bingo aren't ready next season. I doubt anybody claims him with 2 more years at 4.5M left on his contract after this season though

Idk what his numbers are. If he can’t defend I don’t want him.
2 more weeks..

So his Corsi looks good but that's because of the huge about of powerplay time he gets. If you adjust for 5on5% he gets a lot worse. Another big factor should be percentage of points generated while on the powerplay. Over his career the majority of points come from power play time which just further damns him as being a bad even strength player. He's a fine player but you have to deploy him mainly with offensive zone starts, limit even strength play, and have heavy powerplay usage. Most good teams can afford to have a defenseman like this on the roster, just not sure he's the kind of player we're looking to have right now seeing our general defensive woes.
