Your view of Tkachuk is nowhere close to reality if you think he's sitting anyone down for a big boy chat or he fired the puck down the ice to be respectful.
- Hunkulese

He sent the puck back towards the other team... Could have been a Richard and fired it into his net or over the glass, and didn't.

The Tkachuks grew up with old school unwritten rules being drilled into them. If you don't think he had some awareness there and intentionally pushed the puck towards their end of the ice, I think you're flat out wrong. Not necessarily "respectful", but it also wasn't some disrespectful Richard move.

Lol, sure, watch the clip, I'm sure that Brady was saying "thanks bro" there at the end of it.

Lemme know when you have a hot mic or the ability to read lips...or Brady offers a comment on what he said. Till then, sit down.

You know one of the Tkachuks did the exact same thing last year, right? The Tkachucks always break the unwritten rules and the only thing drilled into them was how to piss off the other team.

The situation was over. Matthew should have just left the ice. It's always a Richard move when someone is coming to get something and you knock it away no matter the context.

The refs were firmly between Brady and the puck. Rasmus threw it towards the Flames net, Tkachuk sent it the other direction. Not sure why that's complicated to understand. Want him to reach down, pick it up and hand it to Brady like a cookie? Saved them from skating to the other end of the ice. Call it middle ground.

TSN did a small piece on when Brady did it. Brady picks the puck up after every game and gives it to a kid in the stands (when there were fans) at home or away (there are dozens of videos of him doing it). He was on his way to give it to a kid when price stopped him. Brady apologized and handed the puck to price.

Or, you know, do what anyone else would do in that situation and leave the ice and let them figure out how to navigate the refs to retrieve the golden puck.

I have a question for you, do you think the Flames will actually make the playoffs and be honest.

Sure, you look at the negative end of things, I believe that Tkachuk doing what he did saved them from having to skate the length of the ice and look like schmucks cleaning up after Rasmus. It's middle ground.

Right, because you are a far better judge of intent than anyone else who watched it. Brady was a stick length away from the puck when Matthew fired it away. Great player, stellar agitator, and total jerk. But you hold tight to what you know.

By skate the length of the ice, do you mean two feet?

Rasmus really only did pretty much exactly what I would expect Matthew to do. I see it strictly as an attempt to get under the other Team's skin and agitate them. Then when Rasmus dropped it and M.T. fired it toward the Sens - that was just Matthew being Matthew. He was not trying to be nice - that's not his game. His game is getting under the other team's skin & that's what he was doing there.

I truly was surprised to see Rasmus do that though as I have not seen that type of behavior from him before.

In the end though - who really cares - it is just a part of the mind game that occurs with a Tkachuk (or 2) on the ice.

I think the only one being a dink was Matthew. I believe Rasmus when he says it wasn't a conscious thing, and he tossed the puck when they started yelling at him. Matthew knew what was up.

You've got a weird world view where the guy who steals the puck is not the Richard and the guy who sends the puck back to the other team is the Richard... very strange

Matthew stopped the puck from going further... so yeah, little more than 2 feet

Well, we've seen them both play 200 games. Not really sure how anyone could have the opinion that Tkachuk isn't a dink. All three of them are dinks, and it's what makes them effective. That just happened to be the one time in his career that he wanted to deescalate the situation?

It's also pretty easy to believe a guy who says he wasn't thinking about it and just picked up the puck and chucked it back to them when they yelled at him. You get the benefit of the doubt when you've played 200 games and there isn't another dinkish moment that sticks out.

Oh, they are all dinks, I'm not disputing that - I do think they still have a code that they operate within and don't do dink stuff for no reason. I don't think he was escalating, I think he honestly just shot the puck back their way. Whether he talked to Rasmus I guess is another point.

Andersson definitely picked up the puck for reason, whether that was expressly to deny the Sens rookie goalie his game puck, guess we will never know. Still a dink move, so call it his first

tkachook doesn't seem like the kind of guy to have a talk to anybody with... he seems like too much of a douchbag for that...

wow there's this much debate over picking up a puck? seriously?

Then it must be said, Sam Bennett needs to get traded or at least benched...

I was thinking about Mangiapane's next contract, and I figure he'll make $3.5m/yr MINIMUM, but he'll probably push for $4.5m

If he produces like he has so far, he'll probably get $4M+ and have earned it.
