Maybe I'm reading too much into Lou's comments, but I feel like he's saying "no thanks" on Hall...

Of course, there are other names no doubt on Lamoriello’s list, but it wouldn’t be as long as the lists we have in the media or among fans.

“I think you’re guessing right, without going into it,” Lamoriello said carefully, meaning his list is likely shorter than projected. “You said it best, this is a team. Teams win championships.”

And if you look at how the Isles added J-G Pageau and Andy Greene before the deadline a year ago, that underlines this point.

“Andy Greene and Pageau fit in perfect when they came, it was seamless in the locker room, seamless on the ice, all of the above,” Lamoriello said. “Both are leaders from where they came from.

“Those are the type of similar situations you kind of look for. You can’t always have it happen, so you have to be very careful.”

That’s what I got from it too.

I trust Lou to bring in the right player and fit he's a master at it, salary cap is debatable but players that slot in seamlessly 100%

Yea I don't think they'd touch Hall with a 10ft pole.

Did you catch his awful pass he tried to force through on the PP last night that ended up in a Pens SHG?

- eichiefs9

Yep. The worst was Hall and Dahlin both going for the puck carrier, who they had no chance to catch, and leaving the eventual goal scorer wide open.

I still think he'll land somewhere and get back to being a dangerous player and goal scorer, but man, did he make a bad career choice this past offseason.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they went 0-for-the-rest-of-the-season

Steve Pelligrini is one of the best cap managers out there in my opinion, that why Lou has him here.

I knew they brought him in for that I guess the Komarov deal is the mind boggling one as Ladd is on snow and Martin loves it here and has had a great year thus far. Pageau locked up long term is huge and barzal wants to stay it just wasn't doable so he took the bridge deal. I can't believe they don't have compliance buyouts but the nhlpa probably is against that

Gotta think the NHL and The NHLPA will come up with some kind of relief that will help both.

Me neither. I watched part of that game until it became unwatchable. They are SO bad that they probably won't win another game until another team in the division like New Jersey falls out of contention and begins playing their taxi squad.

As long as it isn't wahlstrom, I wouldn't trade him for anyone .....

It took a great deal of restraint to be as polite as I was. 😅

Devils are 8 points out of the last playoff spot. I see them selling off soon. Unless the Devils go on a tear and Boston collapses I don't see them challenging for the playoffs.

Well... maybe for McDavid AND Draisaitl @ 50% salary retained.

Maybe.

Especially with the Bruins schedule being very Buffalo, Devil and Flyer heavy these next 3 weeks.
