"Komarov must pass through waivers every 30 days in order for the Islanders to freely move him between the active NHL roster and the taxi squad. And the odds of another team picking Komarov up off waivers remains slim considering the $3 million cap hit he carries."

just read this on one of Isles blogs. So I guess he will be waived every month.

He has to go down every 30 days, so it's routine. No one is picking that contract up.

There are a lot of moves you can make to create cap room. Especially late in the season as the cap number of players is less..... that said I can't imagine a lot of owners are dying to spend more money this year with relatively zero gate revs coming in the door.

Leo or MDW?
- Vukota

Leo.
They have to send him down every 10 games played or 30 days - if the team wants to maintain the ability to keep placing him in the taxi squad.

I doubt anyone would claim him. How much cap comes off the books when he on the taxi squad

He's a first liner now. That should surely draw some interest.

Well he hasn’t turned it around because we were good for a couple years now, but he sure has fit right in and hasn’t missed a beat as far as goal tending goes so I’m happy as hell.
Lou signed him for a good deal so this year we are more than covered at a good number in the net

If that is the starting point then maybe they would take 2 first and a coouple of prospects like Bellows and Wilde. The bottom line is Eichel is one of the best young centers in the NHL and he is signed for term. I would probably try and get this done even if it costs me 4 firsts. The way the Isles are playing lately it's unlikely to be a lottery pick. As we saw with the Barzal trade if there is ever a guy that falls that you really want you can find a way to trade into the first round to get him. .... If Eichel is truly available... I would think Lou is trying to get him.

See above, they moved swiftly on this one.

Pretty much confirms what everyone already knew: refs have an agenda and think that they deserve to manage the game instead of letting things play out as they should. League got this one right.
