It is why I like to see them grabbing a couple players off waivers, fills a hole and you to to evaluate whether the player might be a fit next season.
The team has some nice pieces, but badly need some other pieces.

As someone who has had multiple wrist injuries, I can understand it getting continuously set back, especially if it's his dominant hand. Extremely tricky injuries to treat properly. Picking up a pot or opening a door wrong can tweak it back out of place.

Keep him out to heal properly. Look at Boeser, took him a while to get to 100%.
